Pinàbre is a Breton 3 bedroom farmhouse, set in large private grounds. To the front is a large south facing courtyard with plenty of room for parking.
Pinàbre farmhouse is decorated and furnished to a high standard: - open plan kitchen with wood burning stove/dining/living area, furnished with 2 and 3 seater sofa's and upholstered chair, satellite tv, dvd player and music centre. Small separate lounge with double bed-settee, can be utilised as 4th bedroom if required. Large downstairs shower room, separate toilet, utility room with washer, tumbledryer and plenty of storage space. From the lounge up the oak staircase on to the landing with large Breton cupboard leading to the original 3 bedrooms – master bedroom with sleigh bed and free standing furniture. Second bedroom with twin beds and wrought iron unit. Third bedroom fitted out with a single bed and pine furniture, room for cot or second bed if required. Bathroom with bath and shower cubicle.
Removable child safety gates can easily be fitted on the stairwell; childproof window locks are also fitted. Highchairs, cots etc, can be provided on request.
The farmhouse is set in large private grounds, to the front is a large south facing courtyard with plenty of room for parking. There is a flower bedecked enclosed area to the front which has a large patio dining set and a gas barbecue, to the left is a raised lawn area with seating under the large pine tree (Pinàbre) which gives shade on those hot summer days. Through in to the children’s play area where there are swings, slide, inflatable children’s paddling pool and trampoline etc. Walk through the fir trees into the large mowed field which is ideal for volley ball, football, cricket or an evening stroll. We have 2 barns attached to the farm so there is plenty of room to store your bikes etc. The surrounding area is ideal for walking and cycling along picturesque country lanes and tracks.
Pleasant 15 minute scenic country walk to village of Plouguenast, which has all amenities including supermarket, bakery, bars, etc, canoe and cycle hire.
Open plan kitchen diner with wood burning fire, fitted out with gas cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, cafetiere and all kitchen equipment.
The dining table will easily seat 6 people.
Utility room with washing machine and drier, iron, ironing board.

We moved to Brittany in 2006, and really enjoy living here. We love having guests, and really enjoy meeting people. It is great to see people who arrive maybe slightly stressed, and notice after a day or two how relaxed they become.

|Why this location?||We really liked the area, wide open countryside, village close by with all amenities. The coast which is fantastic is only a short drive away, St Brieuc, St Malo, Rennes, Dinan, are only a few of the places we love to visit.|
|Unique benefits of property||We have installed all the modern requirements, but tried to retain its original charm and homely feel. The feeling of space and country living makes it feel very special. There is plenty of space for parking in the courtyard, large enclosed play area for the youngsters, with relaxing patio area to relax in.|
Situated approximately 26 miles from Pinàbre, the remains of this 12th Century Abbey and it's grounds are open to the public. It is situated right on the banks of the Nantes to Brest canal. On a Sunday morning the Abbey hosts the 'artisan market' where you can purchase fresh fruit and produce from the local farmers.
Situated approximately 26 miles from Pinàbre, this hamlet is tucked away at the bottom of a wooded valley and was the site of the iron/steel industry in the 18th and 19th Century. Visit the former homes of the workers which are furnished according to their original style. At the top of the terraced pleasure gardens there is a splendid view over the valley and the various stretches of water within it.
Lac de Guerledan - situated approximately 25 miles from Pinàbre, this magnificent stretch of water surrounded by trees is one of the finest sights in inland Brittany. Because the lake is over 8 miles long it has been divided up into sections for the various water sports such as sailing, water skiing, jet ski etc.
There are 3 small beaches which offer safe bathing for children. Le-Val-Andre approx 30 minutes drive features a huge beach with fine sand and a long pedestrian promenade.
Local village of Plouguenast there are plenty of shops which include supermarket, boulanger, Post Office, banks, hairdresser, bars and small cinema. Also a English speaking doctor. There are several restaurants in the surrounding area. The area is ideal for cycling and walking with plenty of tracks and almost traffic free roads in beautiful countryside.
Situated approximately 23 miles from Pinàbre, the old capital of the Rohan family, Pontivy still has the Chateau which was built during the 15th Century. The old town has narrow winding streets centred on 'Place du Matray'. In contrast the geometrical new town was laid out by Napoleon. Pontivy has many shops and is home to a regular Monday market.
Head here for a good selection of shops and restaurants, also features a casino right on the water front for an evening out. Dinard Approx 60 minutes drive is situated on the western side of the Rance estuary across the water from picturesque St Malo. There is a certain 'Cote d’Azur' feel about Dinard with its casino, enjoy Dinard’s pretty bay and charming Eclus beach.
The canal runs through Pontivy and is an ideal place for peaceful country walks.
This was our 3rd stay at Pinàbre, and we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else! The beautiful Breton farmhouse is full of character. It has everything we need - space, comfort, cleanliness and is in the most peaceful countryside setting, ideal for walking or sightseeing in the surrounding area. You couldn't ask for anywhere better and Ralph & Ann are the perfect hosts. We are already looking forward to our next stay.

Ralph and Ann are excellent hosts and the farmhouse is equipped to a high standard. The gardens provide entertainment for all ages and our 12 year old boy particularly enjoyed playing football in the big field. The farmhouse is situated in an excellent position providing easy access to explore historic towns, lakes and the sea.
An exceptional cottage which included everything required for a good holiday exactly as described.
The cottage was exceptionally clean throughout, with fittings of a high standard and the beds were vey comfortable.
The kitchen was very well equipped, with all the items necessary for cooking and cleaning and the two bathrooms were extremely clean and well kept with ample towels.
The laundry room had a super washer and dryer, although the latter was never used due to the soaring temperatures at the time!
The grounds were lovely and ideal for relaxing in the heat and the covered patio with a large dining table was superb for al fresco meals.
Ann and Ralph were great hosts and took immense trouble to make us welcome and sort out any queries.
I would be happy to recommend this property to anyone.

Pinábre is perfect if you are looking for a base in central Brittany. Ann and Ralph are attentive hosts from booking to making sure you get home safe! The gîte is comfortable with everything you need including a washing machine and dryer. The outdoor space is very well kept for lazy BBQs and meals on the Terrace. Our children (7&9) loved the outdoor play area and the opportunity to play with other children staying on the campsite.
The local village has all the essential amenities and there is plenty to do within an hours drive.

It was really nice meeting Esther and family, glad they enjoyed their stay at Pinàbre. The children enjoyed the safe play area which is enclosed, giving the parents time to relax in the front garden.

We are situated central Brittany, which means only a short drive to all the attractions and the many coastal destinations.
Plouguenast our local village, which is only a few minutes away as a supermarket and boulangerie.
At the rear of the property, we have a small campsite which is ideal if you like to bring your caravan/camping relatives and friends along with you on holiday.
