A self-contained gite in part of a characterful 200 year-old stone house, fully renovated over the years by the owners who live in the main house. For more information and photographs please see our website using the link below.
The gite is situated in a very quiet rural location close to the lovely medieval town of Dinan with its castle, river port and railway museum. Easy access from St Malo (30 minutes) or Caen (2 hours) via Brittany Ferries.* Very easy to reach from Dinard (Pleurtuit) airport (25 minutes from the gite - possibility of pickup by owners by prior arrangement). Regular Ryanair flights from London Stansted, East Midlands and Leeds Bradford to Dinard airport.
The fashionable resort of Dinard is about 30 minutes' drive. Mont St Michel (France's second most-visited tourist attraction after Paris) is only 45 minutes away.
There are nice walks and cycle rides direct from the gite, as well as excellent well-marked paths (including the coastal path GR34) within easy reach.
Our accommodation is very comfortable, has lots of exposed beams (see photos) and has recently been upgraded with a new fitted kitchen and private balcony. You can enjoy meals "al fresco" on the balcony or your own terrace.

We bought this house as a holiday home. We liked the house and the area so much that we moved here in 2009. We really enjoy having visitors in our gite - we meet many new people this way, and they all like the Dinan area in general and our gite in particular. The photo shows us on a recent wedding anniversary. John and Sandra.

|Why this location?||A beautiful, unspoiled part of North Brittany, with the historic town of Dinan, excellent beaches and Mont St Michel all within easy reach.|
|Unique benefits of property||A very quiet rural location where you can enjoy your holiday whether you want to "get up and go" or just relax in the pleasant garden.|
One of France's jewels! This beautifully preserved medieval town has so much to offer. Visit the castle and the river port, the picturesque clock tower, and the churches. There's a large market every Thursday throughout the year and a flea market on Wednesdays during the summer. Dinan provides an excellent choice of restaurants, cafes and creperies at prices to suit all pockets.
A huge choice of wonderful sandy beaches awaits you only half an hour away. Our favourites are Lancieux, St. Lunaire and St. Jacut but there are many more.
Hire a little boat with an outboard motor from Dinan. Or take a trip along the Rance from Dinan to Lehon. For longer trips go to Dinard and book a place on a boat up the Rance back to Dinan. Sea trips to Cap Frehel or the Iles de Chausey are also recommended.
A lovely chateau with beautiful gardens to wander round. Stunning views across the river.
The well-known seaside resort first developed by wealthy British and Americans in the 19th century. The villas they built overlooking the sea are still amazing over 100 years later. Enjoy the magnificent sandy beach, the large covered market and the usual wide selection of eateries to suit all tastes and pockets. Wander round the headland by the yacht club and admire the beautifully-kept public gardens and elegant houses.
Nice walks and cycle rides direct from the gite (2 mountain bikes available). Play boules in the garden!
Only about 10 minutes drive from the gite, this beautiful lake is ideal for swimming. You can also hire canoes and sailboards, or just walk the 3km round the lake and enjoy the scenery.
This little gem of a village is just minutes away. There is a grand abbey and cloisters, a superb heated open air swimming pool and scenic walks in both directions along the old canal.
A lovely river port with many boats to admire and a couple of nice eating places overlooking the river.
A must see visit. Only 45 minutes from our gite to the second most visited place in France!
This amazing walled town was completely rebuilt after World War II as closely as possible to the original. Now a busy port with lots of interesting shops and even more eating places than Dinan. Don't miss the fine walk around the ramparts!
The property was exactly as described. Beautiful serene rural location. Owners extremely hospitable with many welcoming personal touches. Property was very clean and well maintained. Activities and places to visit (as recommended by the owners) provided a great steer for our stay. Well located for visits to St Malo, Mont St Michel, local beaches and picturesque Breton villages and towns.
We would like to confirm that our holiday at the above gite was excellent. Accommodation and position was first class and the owners were very welcoming and informative. No doubt we will visit again.
A very pleasent stay with our hosts John & Sandra. A lovley well appointed Gite in the the country. A beautiful area to travel & see France and all it has to offer
This was our first venture into a Gite and was a most enjoyable experience. The Gite was equipped exactly as advertised but with lots of extra touches to make us feel at home. John and Sandra were very welcoming and there if we needed anything. We would have no hesitation in returning to this Gite and would be very happy to recommend it to family and friends.
