Spacious, Peaceful Property in a Rural Setting. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

A traditional longere, which has been fully renovated to provide large, spacious and peaceful accommodation in rural Brittany, La Ville es Pellerin is ideal for extended family groups (including disabled members) looking for good value accommodation. Set in a small hamlet, there are large garden areas to the front and rear with views over open countryside. The beautiful village of Laurenan is just 2 miles away, and the nearby towns of Plemet and Merdrignac provide a full range of shops and restaurants. There are many beautiful walks and cycle rides you can undertake directly from the property, and the fantastic North Brittany beaches are within easy driving distance as are many historic towns such as Dinan, Jugon-les-Lacs and Josselin.
 
The traditional stone walls ensure the property is cool in summer, and snug in winter (with a large wood burning stove in the living area and wall heaters in every room). The downstairs bedroom is suitable for disabled with ramp access from outside, and a walk-in shower as part of an en suite wet room (there is a small step up to the main living area).
 
Linen is provided, as are 6 adult's and 1 child's bike, portable barbecues and plenty of patio furniture.
 
The good value rental rates reflect the fact this is our holiday home, and not a commercial enterprise! All guests so far seem to have enjoyed their stay, judging by the feedback we've received).
 
Short breaks available, and we would always try to be flexible on arrival date.

Kitchen and dining

Fully equipped open plan kitchen with cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is a separate back kitchen/utility room with sink, additional fridge, washing machine and extra cupboard space. The open plan dining area has a large table with seating for up to 12.

Living rooms

Large open-plan area with the kitchen at one end, the dining area in the middle and a seating area, with a large wood burning stove, at the other end. This area also has a pool table, which converts into a small table tennis table.

In addition the downstairs bedroom can be used as a quiet lounge if not needed as a bedroom, and has doors out onto both the front and rear garden areas.

Bedrooms

Downstairs: one large bedroom with comfortable double sofabed.

Upstairs: double bedroom with double bed and sink; family bedroom with small double (4') and 3' bunk beds; small bunk bedroom with 3' bunk beds, the bottom one can open out to become a double bed, but is not recommended for adults; large master bedroom with double bed and settee.

4 "z-beds" are provided with space for at least one in each bedroom.

Bathrooms

The downstairs bedroom has a en suite wet room with walk-in shower, toilet and sink. Separate downstairs cloakroom with toilet and sink.

Upstairs: family bathroom with bath, toilet and sink; separate shower room with toilet (no sink); en suite bathroom for master bedroom with bath, toilet and sink.

Heating

Large wood burning stove in living area, which provides excellent heat (wood provided). Small electric wall heaters in every room.

Entertainment

A pool table (old, but a proper slate-bedded table), which converts into a small table tennis table.

A selection of holiday reading and board games.

Six adult bikes and one child's bike provided.

Garden and outside

Large garden areas to front and rear.

The front garden has a patio area ideal for barbecues and eating outside (plenty of patio furniture provided), and at the bottom of the garden a trampoline and swing.

The rear garden has a small wooded area where a hammock can be hung.

Parking and garages

Ample parking space.

Visitor suitability

An ideal house for extended families and groups wanting to experience the peace and quiet of a beautiful part of rural France. There are glorious beaches and historic towns within easy reach.

The downstairs bedroom is suitable for disabled guests (there is a small step up to the main living area).

Well-behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement.

Beach at Pleneuf Val Andre

The North Brittany Coast has many superb beaches, and one of the best can be found at Pleneuf Val Andre (about 45 minutes drive away), with a vast sandy beach, selection of bars and restaurants and a coastal path for some great walks.

Cycle or Walk Along the "Voie Verte"

Less than 2km from the house, on the way into Laurenan, you can join the "Voie Verte 6", which is an old railway track crossing central Brittany. You can cycle or walk for as far as you want in beautiful, peaceful surroundings.

Indoor Pool Complex at Loudeac

The indoor pool at Loudeac has a large water-slide, lazy river, toddlers' pool and a separate pool reserved for serious swimmers - something for everyone!

Jugon-les-Lacs

Officially "a small town of character" and a "tourist resort in a natural setting", Jugon-les-Lacs is well worth a visit. The old town has some excellent restaurants, and the long, beautiful lake provides watersport possibilities.

Medieval Town of Dinan

Dinan (about 40 minutes' drive away) is a lovely medieval town and well worth a visit. Don't miss the old river port, and if you can, go on a Thursday morning to visit the excellent market.

Open-air Pool at Merdrignac

The open-air swimming pool at Merdrignac, complete with water-slide, toddlers' pool and sunbathing lawn is a superb place to visit on a sunny summer's day. If you are feeling particularly active, you can cycle along the old railway cycle track straight to the pool.

Walk Along the Old Roman Road

Just 200 metres from the house is the start of an old Roman road, providing lovely wooded walks.
