We first came to Brittany on holiday 20 years ago, and liked the area so much, we took the plunge and moved here permanently a few years later. We've holiday let our apartments here since then, and are still finding new places close by to explore and visit. <br/>We appreciate the beautiful natural environment and well preserved towns and villages close to us, as well as the quality of life - we hope you enjoy the area as much as we do!

|Why this location?||The port of Dinan is a great holiday location, with restaurants and cafés close by as well as bike and boat hire just next to the apartments. You can walk into the historic centre of Dinan up the steep cobbled Jerzual hill in 10 minutes, or take the free bus the 'Dinamo' organised by the Commune to link the port to the town.
The stunning North coast is about 30 minutes drive away where you'll find beautiful sandy beaches, rocky headlands and the coastal footpath, the GR34.
|Unique benefits of property||The apartments are next to the river Rance and very close to the restaurants, cafés and shops on the port of Dinan. The ground floor apartments (Millefleurs and Tisserands) each have a garden with direct access to the tow path and river. The other apartments have great views of the port and the old bridge as well as the boats sailing up and down the river.
We speak English and French and live close by, so are here if you need us or if you have any questions about the apartments or the area.
The town of Dinan is an ideal holiday location - it has an attractive historic centre, a good selection of restaurants and is also close to the North Brittany coast. The historic medieval centre is well preserved, with a wealth of half-timbered houses, a medieval castle and impressive stone ramparts. The town has a unique atmosphere and plays host to a major medieval festival every 2 years, an unforgettable experience. The next festival takes place in July 2020. The port area of the town is a very attractive spot to explore, with boat, canoe and bike hire available. The river path leads from the port out into the tranquil countryside past the beautiful village of Lehon. Ideal for cycling and walking, the path quickly takes you to the peace and quiet of the Breton countryside.
The apartment is on the port of Dinan where you'll find some good restaurants and cafés, as well as a traditional Brittany bakery. You can also hire bikes and boats to explore the river and country side. The riverside tow path leads off into the peaceful countryside.
Dinan has a wide selection of restaurants, bistros and cafés. For a light snack, try a crêpe and a cider at one of the many crêperies in town, or a fixed menu of mussels, frites and a glass of white wine at a pavement cafe. For something more substantial, the historic centre has a number of well established restaurants offering traditional French menus. Locally sourced and organic ('bio') ingredients are used as a matter of course and children are made welcome. One thing to note - restaurants do not usually stay open late, and often stop taking orders by 9pm, so don't spend too long on the apéritifs!
Brittany's north coast can be reached in about 35 minutes by car from Dinan. Here you'll find a string of attractive seaside towns and villages including elegant Dinard, and the more relaxed St Jacut de la Mer and St Cast le Guildo. There's a wide variety of beaches - we like Pen Guen which has a large free car park, beach café for a cold drink and a safe sandy beach ideal for swimming. The beach at St Enogat and St Lunaire are also worth a look as are the sandy coves of St Jacut de la Mer. There's also a good coastal walk from St Jacut towards Chateau Guildo, a ruined castle overlooking the estuary. For surfers - start at Pléherel Plage and work your way west towards Finistere.
Beautiful location on bank of river. Clean well-kept apartment with efficient and helpful English owners living nearby.
Local shops and restaurants two minutes away.
Excellent riverside location served by a good selection of restaurants. Everything within walking distance, apart from supermarkets.
Parking was generally OK, but occasionally problematic.
Ideal property for couple or family with up to two young children. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends.
