Pontrieux has many attractions in the summer months, the fete of the 'Lavoirs', live music and fetes.
The train service is between Paimpol - Pontrieux - Guingamp, from Easter you can take the steam train from Paimpol to Pontrieux, enjoying local crepes, cider and Breton music along the way.
An amazing setting and wonderful owners. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. There was everything you could wish for in the cottage and it was immaculately clean. We would recommend this property to any age group, as long as you don't have any mobility issues as the steps are fairly steep.
There are plenty of beautiful beaches within 30 mins and an excellent Gaulish village for young children. The pizza restaurant In Pontrieux is really good and the supermarket and boulangerie are within walking distance.
The owners Mick and Janet live on site and nothing was too much trouble for them. The gite was just perfect in every way. Large gardens, private areas and when a bit chilly, a lovely log wood burner. The welcome pack told us straight away we were going to be well looked after. We ate at home, but Pontrieux just a couple of kms away offered much for those who prefer to eat out. Including an intermarche with a decent fish counter. I would most certainly recommend this gite to my family and friends, and if the visitors book was anything to go on so would all the other guests.
With plenty of genuinely nice and interesting places to visit close by my wife and I both had a lovely holiday.
A wonderful gîte with friendly, helpful owners. Excellent location. A perfect holiday spot. All you need is the weather...this IS Brittany after all..
I would HIGHLY recommend this gîte to anyone, couples with or without children, group of friends: there is something for everyone.
