About the Owner/Advertiser, Mr Richard Barnes

We moved to La Touchefais in 2003 with our three small children who have grown up enjoying the Breton culture and way of life. We bought a property with one large family home and three smaller properties, which we then converted into Gites. <br/>We are surrounded by countryside and are still grateful that we made the move to a quieter and more relaxed environment.

Year property purchased 2003
Why this location? Close to the medieval city of Dinan, with its bars and restaurants. Near to the beautiful beaches of northern Brittany and easy access to Ferry Ports and Dinard and Rennes Airports. Trelivan, our small town, has a butcher, baker and Italian restaurant plus other shops.

The property is surrounded by countryside, we live in a hamlet, but is a couple of minutes drive away from 2 supermarkets, plus numerous restaurants, we are very lucky as we get the best of both worlds.
Unique benefits of property Heated above ground pool, safer for the little people.
Gamesroom including pool table, table football, pinball machine and Playstation.
Outside there is a table tennis table, badminton net and football posts, plus play area and Wendy house.
Free wi-fi is accessible from inside of the properties and around the pool.

The accommodation was of a good size for a family and the children's bedroom had been set up to make it homely with books and a rocking horse. The outdoor area was nice along with the pool and play equipment and it was in a quiet setting. It would be helpful to provide instructions for electrical equipment and ovens for ease along with tourist information on local attractions, luckily we had visited France before but not this area. The owners were friendly and helpful when needed and were welcoming along with being available to ask questions if needed. Access to BBQ was an additional extra and was nice to use in the time we stayed there.
The area has plenty to see with the town of Dinan which is beautiful and the costal resorts were worth a trip to see with plenty beaches that were quiet at this time when we visited. The small
Village which the accommodation is close to has a bakery and local restaurant which is quaint and there are plenty supermarkets within a short drive away. Dinan has more varried restaurants to suit all choices with a lovely pizzeria which caters to all needs especially making a pizza with no cheese on
