Hello, I'm Donna. I run the Old Bakery Gites with my husband George. Apart from running the gites we are passionate gardeners and keen birdwatchers. I am also an Artist and Potter. We love the living here and would love to share a bit of France with you and help you have a wonderful holiday.

|Why this location?||We choose this little piece of heaven in rural Brittany because of the charm of the granite buildings, the beauty of the space and the tranquil setting. It has all the benefits of peace and quiet yet only 10 minutes drive away from the National Routeway N164 it has fast access to towns, cities and many of the sights and attractions that Brittany has to offer.|
|Unique benefits of property||This property offers the best of both worlds, on one hand we are a quiet restful rural location where you can unwind but on the other we benefit from being 10 minutes drive from the National Routeway N164 that allows easy access to many of the sights and attractions of Brittany. Unlike many locations we allow guests to stay on site all day if they wish. The gite has its own private outdoor seating & bbq area but you will have access to over an acre of stunning gardens that have been set out for your enjoyment, including swimming pool, boule court, covered entertainment area, table tennis, swings, slide, football goal, quiet seating areas & much more. Your gite is self catering but the proprietor who is a qualified chef, also offers a catering service (at additional cost) for one or several meals. You can have an evening meal served in your gite with your family or a meal for 2 once the kids are in bed with no need for a babysitter or you could take breakfast in our farmhouse kitchen.|

Wren Cottage adequately accommodated my small family.
The cottage was just beautiful, remote enough to find tranquility and calm yet easily within reach of Brittany’s historic towns. If you didn’t fancy a day out there was more than enough to occupy yourself and the children.. from woodland walks to lounging by the pool; games for activities and even chickens for the children to become acquainted with. I found myself at the top of the beautiful garden each morning, reading a book during sunrise.
There are three gites at the site and all seemed very well equipped to accommodate families. That said, the way the garden areas are designed there is sufficient screening for privacy and quiet.
The hosts were truly magnificent, genuine and sincere. They left you to your break yet somehow managed to provide a secure reassurance that if you needed anything at any time they were on hand.
We have travelled to northern France for several years now and this holiday home was just perfect for us. I without any reservation recommend this to all families who wish to find a balanced break where you manage to chill whilst seeing some of the sites.
It was a fantastic holiday with nothing I can think to criticise! Welcoming and helpful hosts, lovely walks on the doorstep and endless places to visit and explore.
