The house is in a fantastic position overlooking the 4km long lake, enjoying fabulous views in a very relaxing location but only a short 3 minute walk to the village centre with a choice of restaurants, bars, bakery, banks and a Carrefore Express market, everything you could need for the perfect holiday.
The house is set over 3 floors - the ground floor is open plan with a kitchen/dining area and comfortable lounge. A feature staircase leads to the first floor with 2 bedrooms (1 king size bedroom and 1 twin bedded room) also on this floor is a shower room and toilet. The staircase then leads to the top floor with a large airy bedroom (super-king size bed) with an en suite bathroom. Outside there are 2 balconies, one directly off the open plan lounge for enjoying al fresco dining plus a larger lower deck for sunbathing and relaxing.
Jugon Les Lacs is a large village with lots of facilities, indoor/outdoor swimming pool overlooking the lake, sailing school where boats, kayaks can be hired and lessons if required, tennis courts, local golf courses and many marked cycle ways and walking routes, there is a new floating bridge across the narrowest part of the lake, giving a leisurely 40-45 minute circular walk around the lake or the more challenging marked 4.5 hour walk around the lake and local countryside. There are many marked cycle routes for all standards and bikes can be hired in the village or bring your own !
There is a Friday morning market on the main square which is a must for shopping or sitting and watching the world go by. On Friday evenings in the main summer is Festilacs (unique to Jugon Les Lacs) a series of free open air concerts in and around the village square with music and shows, the square is closed off to traffic with tables and chairs down the centre of the square and a range of foods stalls.
Jugon Les Lacs is just 15 minutes drive from medieval Dinan, famous for its fortified ramparts and old Port area, definitely worth a visit. The varied coast is just a 30 minute drive with a large choice of safe sandy beaches (St Jacut de la Mer's 7 beaches and St Cast le Guildo).
We have rented the house out this year for the first time in a few years and there are a couple of reviews on this site but here are a couple more taken from our visitor book.

The open plan kitchen on the ground floor and is well equipped for your stay with all the expected items including a kettle, toaster, coffee-machine, microwave, iron, fridge-freezer plus a dishwasher and washing machine (in utility room).
The dining table seats 6 and you can eat looking out on the beautiful scenery surrounding the lake or choose to dine on the top balcony with table and chairs provided.
The open plan lounge is part of the kitchen/dining room and enjoys comfortable seating and UK Freesat television.
There are 3 bedrooms:-
First floor - King size bed, view overlooking the lake

Second floor - Super-king size bed - open and airy bedroom

The house is built on the banks of the lake and boasts 2 balconies which are perfect for outdoor dining - starting from your first coffee of the morning through to your evening aperitifs.
Outside there is hardwood garden furniture and cushions and a number of reclining sun loungers .
Useful secure storage-
*To the side of the house are some small stone steps that lead to a secure basement storage room , so plenty of room for storing bicycles, canoes/kayaks, gold clubs, fishing gear and roof boxes during your stay*
The house is approached along a quiet private road and there is parking for 2 cars immediately outside the house.
Just to make sure, due to the balconies and its position close to the lake, small children will need to be supervised when on the two balconies. If you have any concerns please call us to discuss and we are happy to advise on an individual basis. 0044 7803 744144
We ask that no one smokes inside the house.
To secure your booking we require a £250 deposit per week booked with the balance payment due 6 weeks prior to the holiday, at that time we will also ask for a £150 security deposit, it will be repaid in full upon return of keys and inspection of the property.
Out of peak season (July and August) we are flexible over the changeover day as there are a wide choice of crossings which are less expensive midweek plus we can offer an additional 20% off Brittany Ferries crossings through Holiday France Direct. There are a choice of crossings Portsmouth to St Malo being the closest from the house (45 minutes) but do not discount the fast ferry (3 hours crossing time) from Portsmouth to Cherbourg and Portsmouth to Caen (5.75 hours crossing time) both only 2 hours 30 mins from the house. Calais and the Eurotunnel are 330 miles and 360 miles respectively.
Flights to Dinard (40 minutes from the house) from London Stansted and East Midlands, Rennes (80 minutes) from a range of UK airports.
We now live in Worcestershire, having lived in France for a number of years, our daughter went to the local village school. We split our time between France and the UK (school holidays permitting).

|Why this location?||The location and the fabulous views!
We already had a holiday home on the edge of Jugon Les Lacs but when we heard this house might be for sale, we did not hesitate, it was house we always liked and admired as it probably has the best position overlooking the lake and it was everything we were looking for- in a quiet location but a close to a lovely village with all the amenities you could want. Being only 30 minutes drive from a large choice of fabulous beaches and even closer to Medieval Dinan and Lamballe, it ticks every box for us !
|Unique benefits of property||With the wrap around balconies you will find you have to be disciplined to go out and explore Brittany, otherwise you end up gazing at the ever changing view. It is very tranquil and you very quickly unwind and fall into a slower pace of life. There are many walks to choose from including the four and a half hour Lake walk.|
Restaurant Le Petit St Michel, Les Hopitaux, Erquy, great fresh moules frites (€9.50), gallettes, crepes and artisan ice cream - follow this with an afternoon on the beach (straight in front), you can walk out and explore the small island at low tide (L'Isle Petit St Michel). Just 20 km north of Jugon Les Lacs. Book a table on the terrasse which has a retractable roof, be sure to book a table 0033 296 72 39 34.
Lovely village with lots of amenities.
Excellent customer service.
Our only problem was the two flight of stairs.
Could prove difficult and dangerous for young children and older and less able bodies.

What a beautiful setting in a friendly village. We were lucky to have good weather mostly so enjoyed the view from the balcony on the ground floor. Lake House was warm and comfortable boosted by the fire on chilly evenings. It was so good when we arrived to find a welcome pack and letter.
It truly is an idyllic location, with the boats and ducks on the lake to provide entertainment , great time wasting and local shops for all our needs.
Lucinda and Paul contacted us to make sure we were ok.
We would happily recommend Lake House for a relaxing, comfortable holiday.

We had a lovely stay at Lakeview house with our two young children (ages 4 years and 7 weeks). The house had great views over the lake and was very functional as well as beautiful. The stair case may be a bit hard for younger mobile children but was my favorite feature of the house. We very much appreciated all the little things that the house provided that you always forget at home when doing self catering.
We did something different everyday of our stay and my son really liked the castle near by and the water park at the campsite across the lake. Worthwhile noting that the water park doesn't open to no camp members until after 2 pm.
Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We had a lovely holiday at Lake View house! The views across the lake from the house are delightful, and there is plenty to do on the lake itself. Our children are older, so we were essentially a party of four adults, and the house was perfect for us; we all had enough space, and the living/dining area worked well. The property is as described, it was clean and well maintained, and the owner provided excellent customer service. It's a short walk from the house down into Jugon les Lacs, perfect for popping out in the morning for fresh bread and croissants. Jugon les Lacs is a lovely little town, with several places to eat, a weekly market,an excellent local supermarket and local shops. We took bikes with us, and cycled round the lake; there is a small cafe on the other side of the lake which makes a good spot for a coffee or an ice cream half way round, and here are plenty of things to do on the lake; we hired a kayak. (You can't swim in the lake, but there is a swimming pool on the edge of the lake.) We had some lovely outings in the local area, there are great beaches not far away, and we found lovely countryside to explore.I would definitely recommend this house.
