Completely renovated to a high standard, this typical Breton granite longere now offers extremely well appointed and flexible accommodation for up to eight, plus a baby.

The property is entered from a private driveway/terrace from an extremely quiet rural road serving just 2 other properties and has little or no traffic. There is sufficient space for 3 vehicles to be parked off road.

The ground floor offers 2 open plan living areas, giving extended families the opportunity to cook, eat and relax together or have some private time. There is also a utility room and downstairs wc.

The first floor has 4 en suite bedrooms, 2 of which have fixed king size double beds, whilst the other 2 have ziplink beds that can be presented as 2 doubles or 4 singles depending upon guests requirements.

Le Camus is situated in large south-west facing grounds which include a private raised terrace with a stone built bbq and a big decked area with light and power. It has a shrub bordered lawn leading to an apple orchard, with meadow beyond. There are uninterrupted views across woodland and ancient moor land. Plenty of outdoor dining furniture is provided along with reclining sunloungers and parasols.



Kitchen and dining

The main kitchen is luxuriously appointed and provided with ample equipment for a party of 8. The appliances are modern and include a range cooker with gas hob and electric oven, a large dishwasher and fridge-freezer. Everything from a salad spinner to nut crackers are included. There is also a secondary kitchen area with a standard size oven, under counter fridge and slimline dishwasher.

The oak dining table seats 8 and there is a breakfast table seating 4, both are situated beside frenchdoors overlooking the spacious grounds.

Living rooms

The main seating area is open plan from the dining area and has three very comfortable sofas, tv, dvd, wi-fi and a woodburner.

There is also a smaller lounge area with a further 2 sofas, another tv and second woodburner.


The master suite has a super-king size four poster bed, ideal for adding a little romance to your stay.

The second bedroom has a king size double bed with high quality orthopedic mattress.

The third and fourth bedrooms each have two ziplink single beds which can be joined to form very large double beds if required.

All the bedrooms are en suite and have ample storage, chairs, mirrors and views of the large grounds.


The master bathroom has a bath as well as an enclosed shower cubicle, large sink with cupboard below and wc.

The other three en suite shower rooms have the same facilities except the bath.

Each room has a heated towel rail, hairdryer and storage cabinet.

A fifth shower room is located at the rear of the ground floor, and there is a sixth wc and hand basin in the utility room.


There are individually controlled electric radiators in every room, plus 2 woodburners.

I bought Le Camus in early 2008 to create an easy to escape to holiday home for my growing family. The renovation was carried out to a high standard and the house is impeccably maintained by relatives who live locally. I particularly enjoy staying at Le Camus and hope our gite guests will also do so.

The chef also owns the deli next door - the food is delicious, beautiful to look at and there is lots of it. This is somewhere to savour your meal, slowly - arrive at 7.30pm leave at 11 - having enjoyed 4 wonderful courses plus amuse-bouche. They will prepare seafood platters with advance warning, but whatever the menu of the day proposes is guaranteed to be good quality, seasonal food. An ideal venue for romantic meals or for large celebrations - there are several different eating areas suitable for couples or large families.

We have revisited this property many times and it never fails to impress. The high quality of facilities has been maintained over the years. The equipment in the house is at least as good as at home and each year something new is added - this year a chimney barbecue.
The peaceful garden is ideal for people looking to relax and unwind. You do need a car though to reach the local town and other places to visit. There are walking routes and cycle routes for the more active and many fascinating towns and coastal resorts to visit within about an hour's drive.
Highly recommended. One big advantage is that there are two gites - one sleeping four and the other six, that have a connecting door between for larger family parties.
Customer service is friendly, prompt and on-the-spot. Any problems are quickly sorted out.

We have stayed at Le Camus 5 times and always have a most enjoyable time.The house is wonderful
and the owner's representative is very helpful. There are pleasant walks around the house and the coast is under 1 hour away. The restaurants in some of the nearby villages are excellent value. The birdsong is a delight and there is plenty of opportunity to bird watch with a glass of wine in your hand.

Another repeat visit did not disappoint us. Once again the house was immaculate with everything one could wish provided. We can only point out to potential new visitors that Le Camus is not within walking distance of cafes boulangeries and restaurants. However there are wonderful country walks around, there are places to rent bikes and kayaks and even motor assisted bikes. Plemet has a good supermarket which will provide everything you need.
The surrounding area has many 'petite cites de charactere' - lovely old towns with lots to see. The North coast and the Gulf of Morbihan coast are each within about an hour's drive. Well worth a day out.
If you are looking for a peaceful, (very) quiet place to stay to wind down in beautiful rural France, look no further. Coming from the UK you are only an hour from St Malo ferry.
Food markets and restaurants are a foodie paradise.
