Parsley Cottage is a stylish 1 bedroom cottage with a wealth of old oak beams and many original features overlooking the gardens.
Lounge area with ceramic tile flooring, exposed beams and comfortable stylish furniture with lovely accessories. English TV, DVD and CD players. With the door leading to south east facing patio area with wooden garden furniture and parasol. A fully fitted high quality Schmidt kitchen / dining room with all home from home appliances, electric hob and cooker, dishwasher, washer / dryer, stainless steel cooker hood, large fridge, microwave etc. A beautiful double bedroom with wonderful original oak beams, parquet flooring and quality bedding having open plan feature bathroom area. The bedroom is large enough to accommodate a fold out occasional bed ideal for a child (€30 supplementary charge applies). Accessed via spiral staircase. At the other end of the bedroom is the bathroom with a feature free standing roll-top slipper bath, wc and basin.
Location - La Marette is perfectly located to explore Brittany and easily accessible to transport links. Situated close enough to the N12 to be a great advantage to reach airports, ports and cities such as Rennes, but not so close as to be a nuisance. The medieval town of Dinan is only 20 minutes away, St Malo port 50 minutes, Dinard Airport 30 minutes, Rennes Airport 40 minutes and the north coast of Brittany only 45 minutes away. The local village of Caulnes offers all of the day to day conveniences for your stay in our Brittany gites, supermarket, café, Post Office, bank, petrol station, bakery etc. So although you will be in the heart of the Brittany countryside, all conveniences are only a stones throw away.

The gite is beautifully equipped for self catering but for something a little special in high season a 'plat du jour' (dish of the day) is offered every evening of the week (except Sunday) which will be prepared by the owner from wonderful local and home produced ingredients and delivered to your gite for you to enjoy at your leisure. From antipasti platters, to Gourmet 5 course meals, La Marette can cater for all occasions. Out of high season catering can be provided by request.
So what can you do whilst at La Marette:
The beautiful emerald coast with its plethora of beaches are from 30 mins away.
If you are a golfer, so many courses to choose from, from 20 mins.
For the kids: the Aquarium up at Saint Malo, the Zoo at La Bourbansais, Jugon les Lacs with various water sport activities, Dolo with the zip wire water skiing, lots of walking trails and cycling routes - a great place to explore Brittany.
If you are a keen cyclist, the Tour de Bretagne is coming our way. Calling all cyclists and all "like to watch cyclists" - The Breton Tour 25th April to 1st May (ending in Dinan) - so just up the road. Book your stay at La Marette - stages 5, 6 & 7 all very doable from La Marette Gites.

Electric heaters - please note that if you require heating there will be an additional charge for this. *Electricity costs – the cottage has an electric meter. A reading will be taken on arrival and on departure - you will find that the standard daily allowance of 10kw should be more than enough, however, should you exceed this, an additional charge of 0.20c per unit will be incurred and needs to be paid in cash prior to departure.

La Marette has a lovely orchard area with seating for a leisurely glass of wine along with areas for children or the more energetic amongst us, badminton net, trampoline, boule etc. Bbqs are available for guests to cook al fresco. Eat your al fresco meal in the orchard or on your own private south facing patio area outside your gite.

A beach for everyone, the numerous beautiful beaches vary from the well established with many laid on activities to the wild and rugged such as those on Cap Frehel.
Cancale lies along the coast to the east of Saint Malo. It is a picturesque fishing village popular with visitors many of whom are drawn by its reputation as the oyster capital of Brittany. Though a small town it is well served by a large number of restaurants, many specialising in seafood.

Located in a small valley, on the shore of a beautiful 4km long lake, Jugon-les-Lacs is like an oasis in the middle of an ocean of greenery. The many activites include sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and pedalos, angling, mountain biking and cycling or for the more leisurely just rambling in the wooded countryside.

A world heritage site since 1979 this rocky outcrop had its first monastic settlement in the 8th century. Over the centuries it has been home to numerous Dukes of Normandy, then during the French revolution it housed prisoners who were opposed to the republican regime. This is a must see whilst on your holiday.
There are many local markets, from food to antiques, all are great fun whether looking for local ingredients to cook for supper or scouting for an antique bargain to take home.
The most popular markets to La Marette are Dinan market on Thursday morning and Dinard undercover market which is open every morning.
Broons is also very popular on a Wednesday morning, with the "Grand Marche" on the 1st Wednesday of the month.

The Metropolitan district of Rennes is widely acknowledged and visited for its 2000 year old history, but is equally popular for its wealth of interesting sights and places to visit with many shops and restaurants scattered throughout the faithfully restored streets and squares.
Le Grand Aquarium (The Mysteries of the Sea) includes a 3D cinema, and a large touch-pool. Visitors can venture out on a 5 minute dive in a submarine to a world where real and unreal meet. The highlight of the Aquarium is the diversity of its species.
La Bourbansais estate welcomes you all year round to visit its zoo and its chateau, for shows and discoveries as a family, in groups or even large parties.
