Brittany offers a wealth of varied landscapes - beautiful sandy beaches, deep forests and medieval towns.
Brittany is easily accessible from the UK via several Ferry Ports and is also served by flights from the UK to 4 French airports.
From spectacular beaches with rugged coastlines to vast sandy expanses, to peaceful woods and forests and the famous Nantes-Brest Canal, Brittany has all the makings of a perfect holiday.
The cuisine in the area includes crepes and galettes and of course the seafood! Mussels and oysters are available throughout the region, particularly in the summer months. Cider is produced here and local varieties are available in all supermarkets and restaurants.
During the summer numerous villages and town celebrate the "Pardon" which is predominantly a religious thanksgiving but is always followed by a celebratory meal (with a drink or two!) and Breton dancing.

On the outskirts of Merdrignac is Lac de Landrouet. This lovely lake comes alive in the summer months with music festivals, car boot sales and also water sports. It is also very popular with fishermen. In the winter it is lovely for a leisurely stroll.

Mont St Michel

The world famous UNESCO Heritage Site at Mont St Michel is one of the most visited attractions in France. It is about 1hour 20 minutes drive from the cabin. It is on an island separated from the mainland by a causeway. Always popular.

Beaches of northern Brittany

The north coast of Brittany is within easy distance. The nearest beach is the beautiful Plage de Morieux. Others worth visiting include Pleneuf-val-Andre, Erquy and St.Cast le Guildo.

Well worth a visit is Josselin with its stunning medieval chateau. Guided tours in English are available during the summer. There is also a doll museum.
The Saturday market is very popular with plenty of local produce for sale.
The cobbled streets have an abundance of eating places and cafes.
Also in the town is the beautiful park, Le Bois d'Amour.

Moncontour is also worth a visit with its cobbled streets and chateau high above the town.

Rennes can be reached in about one hour. It is the capital of Brittany. There are numerous shops and eating places centred around the lovely cobbled squares.
Also very good for a bit of retail therapy!
