The original house end of this traditional Breton granite longhouse (the rest of which was once used to stable horses) has been extensively renovated to create a holiday home just for couples, where it is easy to unwind and let go of the pressures of modern life whilst enjoying the comfort of this spacious one bedroom ground floor gite with far reaching rural views.

The relaxing location is ideal for walkers, cyclists and birders, whilst also providing a well equipped home from home base for guests wishing explore the many attractions that Brittany has to offer.

Kitchen and dining

The kitchen is comprehensively fitted with appliances and equipment necessary for self-catering on a year-round basis, including double sink unit, large oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee- maker and food mixer.

The indoor dining table and chairs are in the area of the large living room that is closest to the kitchen and another dining set is outside on the patio.

Living rooms

The large living room has a dining area at one end plus 2 sofas and a rocking chair at the other, with a woodburner and flat screen tv also installed.

Through frenchdoors to the patio the far reaching rural views can be enjoyed.

Bedrooms

The bedroom has a double bed (2m long), mirror, lots of storage space, bedside table tables and lamps, and 2 easy chairs beside another set of frenchdoors.

Bathrooms

The shower room was refitted in December 2017 and includes wc, sink with mirror, light and power point above, shower cubicle and bathroom cabinet.

Heating

As well as the efficient woodburner in the living room there are electric panel heaters in the living room and bedroom, along with towel radiators in the kitchen and shower room.

Entertainment

The television receives UK free-to-air television and radio channels via satellite, there is also a dvd/cd player available.

The living bookcase is packed with a varied selection of books, discs, boardgames and local information.

Garden and outside

Both sets of frenchdoors open onto a private area with patio that has a built-in bbq and outdoor dining set along with 2 zero-gravity recliners.

Low growing shrubs, wild flowers and herbs surround the patio and there is a small grassed area between them and an open paddock that has a few oak and cider apple trees dotted along the perimeter.

Parking and garages

There is on-site parking opposite the gite and lockable storage space available on request for guests with cycles.

Visitor suitability

La Petite Longere has level access and is single storey, so is suitable for guests wishing to avoid stairs, but please note there are no specific facilities for wheelchair users.

The area is popular with walkers, cyclists, anglers and birders.

Several memorable visits to France for holidays meant that when the time came to move on and slow life down Brittany was top of the list and it has certainly not disappointed. Having carried out the original renovation of the property, and living in the same hamlet as the gite means any ongoing maintenance required receives the same personal attention.

Creperie Fontaine Saint Pere in Plessala

Excellent creperie with a Galette menu that extends beyond the normal ham & egg filling and the locally produced cider washes the food down well.

L'Edelweiss Plessala

Originally just a village cafe/bar/tabac, the current owner has extended the premises into a neighbouring property and now provides tasty daily lunches - the steak frites have been recommended by several previous guests - along with friendly service.
There are also regular live music evenings.
