BRITTANY REGION
Brittany offers a wealth of varied landscapes - beautiful sandy beaches, deep forests and medieval towns, easily accessible from Kerfoll’s central situation.
Brittany is easily accessible from the UK via several Ferry Ports and is also served by flights from the UK to 4 French airports.

From spectacular beaches with rugged coastlines to vast sandy expanses, to peaceful woods and forests and the famous Nantes-Brest Canal, Brittany has all the makings of a perfect holiday.

The cuisine in the area includes crepes and galettes and of course the seafood! Mussels and oysters are available throughout the region, particularly in the summer months. Cider is produced here and local varieties are available in all supermarkets and restaurants.

During the summer numerous villages and town celebrate the "Pardon" which is predominantly a religious thanksgiving but is always followed by a celebratory meal (with a drink or two!) and Breton dancing.

The Owner Recommends

Lac de Guerledan

West of Mur de Bretagne is the Lac De Guerledan, Brittany’s largest lake. Not only is this prefect place for sunning yourself or messing about on the water but the area also offers extensive trails for walking and cycling. The Quenecan forest and Abbaye de Bon Repos are not to be missed.

Bon-Repos

At the western end of Lac de Guerledan overlooking the Nantes-Brest canal, the Abbaye de Bon Repos is a must for lovers of contemporary art. The 12th-century Cistercian abbey hosts regular exhibitions, a weekly farmers market and a spectacular son et lumiere in August.

Coastal area of Binic

Bearing the pretty nickname ‘the beauty spot of the Côtes d’Armor’, Binic marks the entry point to the Goëlo Coast. The town’s port, quays and fine sandy beaches are all linked by the GR34 coastal hiking trail that makes its way along the picturesque, jagged shoreline, meandering through the history of deep-sea fishing and the pleasures of a seaside resort

Town of Quintin

In the heart of the Côtes d’Armor department, the characterful little town of Quintin is a well-preserved one-time centre of the weaving industry. Most visitors come to see its châteaux but there are also the watermills as well as some mysterious megaliths
