I am originally from Jersey in the Channel Islands, and have often visited France for my holidays. I love the laidback slower pace of life that Brittany has to offer. I fell in love with Coat Ar Roux last summer while over on holiday and decided it was the perfect, peaceful setting with 8 acres of land to walk my 2 beautiful rescue dogs. As my children were off to university, I sold my house in Jersey and bought Coat Ar Roux as an established Gite complex, with a little cottage for myself.

This Yearly music festival takes place in Carhaix, 40 minuet drive from Coat Ar Roux. Runs from 19-22nd July. Why not use Coat Ar Roux as "Base Camp" for your stay in Brittany. Many people bring along a tent to sleep over at the festival and make their way back to "Base Camp" to eat, shower, sleep little more before going back to the festival. Oh Happy Days!!!

Amoripark is a great day out for the kids! Inside/Outside pools, water slides, pedals, petting zoo, trampolines and so much more. Onsite cafes/bar less than 30 minutes from Coat Ar Roux
Many great markets to visit within a 30/40 minute radius. My favourite so far being Sunday market at Plestin Les Greves then a nice costal drive stopping off at one of the many cafe/bars restaurants along the north coast
We really enjoyed our stay at Coat Ar Roux. We are a family with 2 young children, and Willow Cottage was well suited to our needs. Tracey, the owner, was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, and is usually around if there are any issues.
The setting is rural, and peaceful, but easily accessible from the N12, and also a 5 minute drive from the Super U supermarket, petrol station, and laundry facilities in Guerlesquin. There are also 2 local bakeries in the town for morning bread etc.
The swimming pool was handy, as although there are some excellent beaches 20mins away on quiet roads, having the pool helped to keep the children entertained on some afternoons after visiting other areas.
There are plenty of small towns with local markets around, as well as being 30mins from Huelgoat with a lake, and impressive valley with huge granite boulders, and also around the same time to "the Valley of the Saints" with many carved granite statues of local saints.
Morlaix is also 25mins away for a slightly bigger town.
We would recommend Coat Ar Roux, and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday there.
