We have just returned from our week at Qui du Val in Lehon, a pretty village a short walk away from medieval Dinan.

The gite is spacious, amazingly equipped with everything you could ever want or need and furnishings, bedding and towels of a very high quality. Definitely home from home.

Its location is just perfect, overlooking the countryside and canal and though the village is small (but perfectly formed!), there is an excellent restaurant which is well priced. We found the owner very friendly and had a fun evening there.

We were in Brittany with friends on a cycling holiday (not sure we are young couples at 40ish but certainly don’t see ourselves as mature!!).The weather didn’t really play ball, but the local area is stunning on a bike or at times car (when it was too rainy!). We visited Cancale (great if you love oysters!), Dinan (loved the port area for post cycling drinks!), Dinard (the ride from Lehman to Dinard along the coast was stunning!), Combourg and it’s castle (an interesting lunch bought in the boulangerie, washed down with local beer and cider in a bookies!!), Mont St. Michel (amazing and worth the walk to the monastery at the top.

We had a wonderful week at Quai du Val and would thoroughly recommend it to others!

u travel through stunning countryside to arrive in picturesque Lehon, to find quaint Quai Du Val set on it's own surrounded by unspoilt picture postcard views in every direction. Easy parking at the property leads into the well appointed, clean, cosy home-from-home, where every detail has been well thought through for guests.
Waking from our comfy bed in the morning it was just a short stroll to the village boulangerie for our morning croissants, and after this delicious breakfast it was a stunning 20 minute walk over the bridge and along the canal tow path to reach historic Dinan - well worth a visit for its harbour lined with welcoming cafes, 15th century quirky buildings and artisan galleries and shops filled with local produce. Even a local harp player who let me try his harp! My camera was hardly out of my hand there's so much to 'snap' and remember!
Then we just had to head back to Quai Du Val for a glass of something chilled on the sun-bathed terrace!
St Malo is also worth a visit for a day. There's so much more to see and do in this area of Brittany, whether you're a walker, cyclist, history buff, tourist, or just looking for a relaxing place to chill. We've only just scratched the surface, and Quai Du Val is the perfect base to discover it all from. We will definitely be back and have told all our family and friends to go too. Can't fault this place.

Great property in an ideal location. The property had everything we needed and more for a self catering family break. Travelled with older children who were happy with WiFi and Sky TV!! Lovely walk along canal path into Dinan where we enjoyed a few meals and spent time boating on the river. The village itself where the property is located has a nice French restaurant which we enjoyed one evening as well as a bakery to get morning croissants etc. Travelling distance to St Malo and other Brittany tourist destinations. Would recommend and will visit again ourselves in the future. Thank you to the property owners for s great family week in France.

Owner response

What a wonderful place! We had a really relaxing holiday and can't wait to come back again. The house was fabulous and much bigger than it seems in the photos... they really don't do it justice. It was very clean, well equipped and we had everything we needed. The beds were nice and comfortable and the bedding and towels were of a high standard. The house is in a great location in Lehon and the riverside views were stunning, it certainly is a unique spot. It was also nice and quiet. It is ideally situated for everything and it is a great area if you love history too with Dinan within walking distance. We enjoyed the riverside walks too. Thank you... we'll definitely be back and we recommend this property 100%!
