This very pretty Provençal house is on a private domaine of 15 properties on a hillside to the east of Grasse. It has lovely views over the surrounding hills and towards the hilltop village of Plascassier.
There is a large fenced shared swimming pool which is in a very nice setting and also has good views.
This property is well situated for people who do not wish to use the car during their holiday; the local supermarket is easy walking distance and the train station is about 20 minutes walk.
Ground floor: Three steps lead up to the attractive dining area. The kitchen is separate and is very well equipped with 4-ring hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer and electric kettle.
Ground floor: Open-plan living room with comfortable seating, satellite television, video and cd player, open fireplace and french windows opening to the terrace.
First floor: Double bedroom (170 x 210cm), and twin bedroom with bunk beds (100cm). A few more steps lead up to the third bedroom which is a mezzanine room with three single beds (100cm) and shower room. We think this is not suitable for young children as it is a split-level room with an unprotected drop.
First floor: Bathroom with bath, shower and wc. Separate wc. Shower close to third bedroom.
20€ per week
A pathway leads from the garden of the villa to the large enclosed pool, which is shared by the other villas in the development. There are only 15 properties, most of which are occupied by locals. The small private garden is enclosed and has a magnificent fig tree which provides shade for dining on the terrace, and a grassy area where children can play. There is a gas barbecue and a parking space within the property.
For those interested in art, there are numerous world-class galleries to visit such as the Maeght Foundation of modern art in St Paul de Vence. Also, Renoir’s museum in Cagnes-sur-Mer and the Matisse collection in Nice.
There is also a regular bus service to the neighbouring towns and picturesque villages. Biot, Mouans Sartoux, Auribeau sur Siagne and Mougins are all within about 20 minutes.
The town is above 300m and its altitude gives a fresher climate than down on the coast. The old town is very interesting and full of picturesque winding streets with 17th century buildings and hidden squares with cafés and fountains.
The house is in an excellent location with good local shops nearby including a supermarket and boulangerie, about 500m. The nearest restaurant is 1km. The centre of Grasse, world famous for its perfumes, is about 2km.
Grasse now has an excellent rail connection to the coast; there is a large free car park at the station and regular trains go to Cannes and along the coast. The station is only a short walk and there is also a shuttle bus service which passes close to the property.
