Chalet Chamoissiere is a 1 bedroom apartment on the ground floor of a small block of 6 apartments with a sunny south facing terrace and beautiful mountain views. Ideal for a couple or young family. It is on the edge of the village of Le Monetier-les-Bains, the highest village of the Serre Chevalier Vallée in the Southern Alps.
The village has a good selection of shops and restaurants. 15 minutes drive away is the 16th century Vauban town of Briancon, with walled citadel, collegiate church, and larger shops and supermarkets in the newer part of the town.
The apartment is just 200m from the pistes in winter, and the chairlift opens in summer for walkers and mountain biking.
The residence has a heated outdoor pool, sauna and hammam. These are open throughout the ski season and in French school holidays (closed Oct-Dec). Please enquire about opening times if these are important to you.
Kitchenette is well-equipped with a full oven,microwave, induction hob, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. Dining table and 4 chairs, dresser with cutlery, glasses and crockery.
Lounge is open plan with double and single sofabeds. Tv, dvd and iPod dock. Doors to the south facing terrace with beautiful mountain views.
Double bedroom with double bed (140x200cm), chest of drawers and 2 bedside tables with lamps. Cupboard with water heater, and shelving.
Shower room with basin and toilet. Hairdryer and shaving point. Heated towel rail and washing machine.
Underfloor heating throughout (Oct-May). Electric heaters.
Samsung smart tv, BluRay/dvd player, iPod dock, free wi-fi (subject to weather conditions).
Small garden area and terrace. Lounger chairs (x2), table and 4 chairs for eating al fresco.

As we are all on one level, Chamoissiere may be suitable for persons of limited mobility, but is not specifically designed for wheelchairs users. Please ask before booking.

At the top of the Col du Lauteret, a beautiful botanic gardens dedicated to mountain plants from around the world. A cairn has been erected to Scott of the Antarctic who trained for his fatal attempt at conquering the South Pole on the Lauteret. Gardens open summer only.
Wednesday (and sometimes Sunday) market in the newer part of Briancon. Provencal and Italian specialities. Fresh fish and seafood.
