About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Anne-Marie Martin

Hi, I am Anne-Marie and will be very happy to welcome you in our home and region where Keith, my English husband of 35 years and I have chosen to retire to in the near future. We have lived and worked in the UK, France, the Netherlands and spent 13 years in Houston, Texas. But my French heart belongs to Provence! We have 2 grown-up children presently living in London and Brussels. There are several cats on the property hence we only accept dogs.

Year property purchased 2015
Why this location? We think it combines everything we are looking for: plenty of blue skies and sunshine, a Provence lifestyle with great food and wine, and the wonderful sightseeing and walking possibilities in the Luberon villages to the west and the Gorges du Verdon to the East. Sea is less than 1 hour away and so are mountain resorts. Perfect location! The lavender fields are almost everywhere. We are located close to Manosque which is a medium sized Provencal town offering all amenities. Pierrevert is a large village and we have a supermarket, a boulangerie/patisserie just 2 minutes away and the village also has a medical center, a pharmacy, butcher's, Post Office, bank and a well-known wine cooperative.

The A1 motorway will take you to Aix en Provence in 45 minutes and you can easily go North via Grenoble or cross the Luberon towards Avignon. Whichever direction you choose, you will not be disappointed.
Unique benefits of property Our rental property is a large studio (around 30m2) with open areas (kitchen, lounge and bedroom). There is a separate shower/toilet area accessed from the bedroom.

Ideal for a couple. It is located on the ground floor of our large house and has direct access via a small terrace to the (heated) 11x5 swimming pool. The house is in a cul-de-sac and it is a very peaceful surrounding as the property on one side (your garden side) has huge grounds and woods. So perfect for your holidays unless you cannot stand the chirping of the cicadas! (we do not have that many actually!). The pool is for your sole use whilst you are on site and we do not have any other renters.

The Owner Recommends

Golfe du Luberon

Only a few minutes away. Even if you are not a golfer, there is a lovely restaurant with a large terrace.

Forcalquier

A typical Provence village/small town, 20 minutes away.
Worth going for its market on mondays.

Salagon, Mane

This is a lovely place, about 20 minutes away in the village of Mane. Not only it has a fantastic history with old buildings but has splendid gardens.

Moustiers Sainte Marie

A very special place, quite touristic in high season but well worth a detour. Just going there is also a wonderful trip in itself.
Its "faience" or ceramics are well-known in France and date from the Middle Ages.

Le lac de Sainte Croix

A favourite lake to visit at all seasons. Beautiful emerald colours, you think you are in the Caribbean. One hour away.

Abbaye de Valsaintes, Roseraie, Simiane la Rotonde

This is a breathtaking garden full of roses (obviously better to visit in May/June) near the stunning village of Simiane la Rotonde. Both well worth a visit.

le Colorado Provencal

Visit Russel in the heart of the Luberon, 40 min. away for a great walk (very popular in high season, sometimes paths are closed due to fire risks).

Another village, Roussillon, not far from Russell offers the same hills and colours. The village is also very pretty.

Chateau d'Ansouis

One of my favourite Provence chateaux in the village of Ansouis, 25 min. away.
The owner is your guide and tells about her passion restoring this chateau.

Terre d'Oc

This is one of my favourite shops, in the village of Villeneuve, 20 minutes away north of Manosque. It is a "magasin d'usine", a factory outlet and there are always bargains to be made. Teas and wonderful candles, cosmetics.

Another well-known company which originates in Manosque.
