The Bake House is recently converted 'Four au Pain'. It has a magnificent setting at the highest point of the property, above the owners house and the upper swimming pool. It is a charming stone cottage with a double bedroom (with double bed), a bathroom and separate toilet downstairs. There are french doors leading from the bedroom onto the private terrace with barbecue. A spiral staircase leads to the first floor where there is a living/dining room with tv and video and a separate fully fitted kitchen (with washing machine and microwave). There is a balcony with wonderful views over the valley below and over the upper swimming pool. The spiral staircase continues up to the mezzanine level where there is a double bed. The ceiling of the mezzanine is quite low at one end, therefore it is suitable for children, but adults should be aware of the limited headroom.
The Bake House shares the upper swimming pool with the Rose House.

Saint Castor is a calm oasis in the heart of the countryside. Backed by old woodland and overlooking a valley of vineyards.
Shared use of 2 pools.
There are many fantastic markets most days of the week within a short drive of the property. Uzes, has perhaps the best market in the south of France on a Saturday morning. Go early to avoid the crowds and have breakfast there. You will be able to shop for all kinds of local specialities such as olive oil, lavender products, provencal linens and potter as well as the freshest possible food.
Apart from the larger well-known sites in the area there are numerous small totally unspoilt medieval villages within a 15-30 minute drive of Saint Castor. To name just a few: Goudargues - called the Venice of the Gard as it has a pretty little canal running through it. Also has a lovely market on a Wednesday morning. It has several excellent restaurants on the side of the canal. A great spot to have a good meal and watch the world go by. Cornillon - a hilltop village near to Goudargues with spectaular views across the valley and beautiful old stone houses. La Roque Sur Ceze. A "site historique" - a small village clinging to the side of a hill. Beautifully restored and preserved.
There are many very good restaurants of different price ranges within a short drive of Saint Castor. We would be happy to advise and book tables for you - just ask!
There is really good river swimming at many places along the River Ceze within a short drive of Saint Castor. Pebble beaches and clear cool water. There are several places to hire canoes enabling you to explore the wilder, normally inaccessible areas.
There are too many good local wineries to mention on one recommendation. The area is well known for its rose and red wines. Tasting is offered at all wineries and is free of charge, although it is polite if people have spent time explaining things to you to buy a bottle or two. Excellent wineries in really close reach to Saint Castor: Megier, Cadignac, Colmobier, Saint Gervais. Too numerous to mention!
