Part of a 19th Century Provencale mas (farmhouse) surrounded by vines and cherry orchards with superb views of Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail. The mas was restored in 2002 keeping the local stone, beams and 'tomette' floors - it is furnished in modern Provencale style.
There is air-conditioning in the bedroom and independently controlled central heating for the autumn and winter guests.
Situated on the edge of a small hamlet (Hameau de Serres) just outside Carpentras, 30 mins from Avignon and the TGV and just over an hour from the airports of Nimes and Marseille. Surrounded by famous wine areas and hilltop villages, a paradise for walkers and cyclists (serious ones going up Mont Ventoux or leisurely ones cycling round the local country lanes ...). There are numerous local markets in the area as well as a wealth of restauants and cafés within a 5-10 minute drive.
The apartment is completely self-contained with your own private swimming pool and small garden with summer house and gas bbq as well as a private, secure parking and entrance. Free wi-fi. The apartment, normally for 2 people, can be extended on request by opening a communicating door to include a second spacious double bedroom suite, making an apartment for 4.
The owner lives on the ground floor but with a separate entrance, garden and parking on the other side of the house.

Game of 'boules' can be played in the garden and a set of badminton racquets with shuttlecocks provided for use on the lawn. 2 comfortable loungers, a parasol, 2 upright chairs, a dining table and 2 chairs with cushions.
Own secure parking area with automatic detector lighting.
As the apartment is on the first floor and reached by an outside staircase, not suitable for wheelchair users or anyone with difficulties with stairs. The apartment itself once reached is all on one level.
Clients have access to the laundry room with washing machine and dryer. There is also a washing line with pegs outside in a corner of the garden.
Free use of wi-fi - a code wlll be provided on arrival. A lock-up storage is available for bikes.
Retired from international marketing career in 2001 and renovated this Provencale farmhouse (mas) over 2 years. . I now enjoy sharing my love of France and my experience of this region with my clients.

Best market for everything; fresh produce, cheeses, local pottery, olive oil and antiques. But it gets busy so you need to get up quite early (9 am) to get the full benefit and park easily :! Or go to the market in Carpentras on Fridays and every day of the week there is a market somewhere in the surrounding towns and villages ...
Visit Vaison la Romaine, the Pont du Gard or the famous Arenas in Orange or Nimes or Arles.
Combine a visit to the fish market on the harbour in Marseille.with a great boat trip from Cassis to the Calanques (little islands off Cassis area) or just chill on the beach at Cassis, or sipping their famous rosé in one of the excellent cafés and bistrots there.
We are in the heart of the Cotes du Rhone wine region with its numerous trails for wine-tasting. Try the vin doux naturel (sweet white) Muscat of Beaumes de Venise or the hearty reds of Gigondas or Vacqueyras which are just the round the corner from your apartment.
Steeped in the history of the Popes, a visit to the Palais des Papes is a few hours well spent ! And what about the bridge of the famous song, Sur le Pont d'Avignon or just wandering around the narrow streets around the rampart area. And while you are there, cross the other bridge (which goes all the way across the river!) to Villeneuve les Avignon and visit the old Fort which has a wonderful rose garden and breathtaking views back across the Rhone to the Palace.
The Festival of Avignon which, like Edinburgh, has its On and Off events is from 6th to 26th July, 2018; And a huge choice of concerts in the region throughout July and August, eg Intl Piano Festival of Roque d'Antheron, Opera at the famous Choregies in the Arena in Orange, smaller venues with string quartets etc in interesting venues or Jazz in the Vines. Something for all musical tastes.
The Spa Ventoux in Malaucene is open 7/7 and offers group aquagym or acquabike courses of 1 hour or you can take a day pass and use all the Spa's facilities including the gym, the outdoor jacuzzi or even a cryotherapy session. Excellent restaurant on site means you can eat lunch without having to get dressed and can just go back and relax afterwards.
The old 'Hospital' in the centre of Carpentras has been completely renovated over the last 3 years and now houses the famous Library of Bishop Inguerbertine. The building has been beautifully restored and is worth a visit just for this. They also have free WiFi connections in there, should you need them.
