About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Sheila Roberts

I live in beautiful Lorgues, in Provence. I am originally from Limerick in Ireland and I'm married to my husband Jeff. We have a son, Eric who is studying in Bristol University. We are now semi retired and we love living in France. We rent out our small adjacent cottage in the summer and we both really look forward to meeting our renters. Many return every year. We love long walks through the vineyards and woods that surround our properties and enjoy lunch in the local villages

Year property purchased 2001
Why this location? We bought a place in Provence because we love the area. We are surrounded by forests and vineyards and very old Medieval villages. The area is full of character and there is nothing like eating out at night in the local restaurants especially if they have dining in summer gardens. All the local villages have a 'market day' which are always a real delight, full of character, colour and fantastic foods and smells! Every Tuesday morning Lorgues has the second largest market in Provence. You can also visit numerous local vineyards and sample wines all day long without any obligation to buy! The coast gets very crowded in the Summer but being inland a bit lets you drop down to the coast when you want- and that suits us. Lorgues is now one of the most popular areas in Provence. Less than an hour from Grand Canyon du Verdon, and the turquoise waters of the Lac de Ste-Croix.
Unique benefits of property This property is south facing and totally private with it's own secluded garden front and back, private drive way, electric gates and private swimming pool. Close to the local village, the property gives easy access to the surrounding vineyards and woodland. Recently renovated and decorated the property has 2 bedrooms (sleeps 4), 1 bathroom and a living room/kitchen. Air conditioned, central heating and it is well equipped with English TV, WIFI, Netflix, internet Radio, iPod + android music docks. Guests have access to an extensive free Dvd Library. Two sun terraces, with an outside shaded eating area- a BBQ, attractive garden, with sun hot spots and natural shade. 25 miles to the coastal beaches of St. Tropez, Port Grimaud and Cannes. Visit local vineyards for wine tasting and the traditional villages of Flyosc, Tourtour(village in the sky), Villecroze & Salernes on market days. About 25 miles inland and you have excellent water sports on Lac St. Croix & Gorge du Verdon.

We spent 2 weeks at this peaceful and beautiful gite.
Furnished with all that we needed: In fact we could not think of anything we might need that was not there. Charming and helpful host(Jeff), was available if needed, but otherwise we had complete privacy. with nearly 40 years experience of hiring gites, we can say that Stone Cottage is among the very best! The garden was beautiful. A satnav is helpful in initially finding it.

Owner response

Thank you ever so much for your kind remarks. I enjoyed meeting you, having a beer and a chat.
