We have just returned from a lovely stay at Stuart and Diana's house. The house is very well equipped, and has everything you could think of for a comfortable stay - from beach chairs and parasols to mosquito spray and pool toys. Audrey, who is the 'on the ground' point of contact, is incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient. Everything about the experience was fabulous.
A few points that might be useful re: the house. It is very homely, which was perfect for us but if you are looking for a slick & fashionable destination, you might prefer somewhere else. The house has been lived in and loved, and although it has all mod-cons (Sky and wifi, for example), it also hasn't been recently refurbished and much of the decor and furniture are dated. That being said, everything works and is comfortable.
We were there in the height of summer and although there were fans (ceiling fans and free-standing fans in each room), there is no air conditioning. Due to mosquitos it is not a good idea to leave the non-screened windows or doors open overnight (we tried - even with lots of spray we were badly bitten), and therefore it can be quite hot! It can make it hard to sleep.
Finally, the local amenities are not really walkable, esp with kids. It is not too far (there's a campsite with options and a village resto 1km away), but there is no walking path and the roads are a bit precarious.
We would definitely visit Le Chenet again and really loved our week there! Thank you!
We fully appreciate this review, and the kind comments made by Christiane.
We would just like to point out the house has the interior painted annually over the winter, as said it has normal home comforts, the furnishings being those you are not afraid to sit on etc ! .
It is a typical Provencal Home and so is furnished accordingly.....
