Maison Albert is a 2 bedroomed, terraced property situated on a hill above the bustling town of Cogolin on a private, gated residential estate and is approximately 10 minutes walk (1km) from the centre of town. The estate has a large private swimming pool accessed with a key, a small children’s paddling pool and 2 boules pitches for the exclusive use of residents.
The estate is made up of about 70% French full time residents and 30% foreign ownership and during the summer English holiday makers are in a minority, with many others from all over Europe. Cogolin is an all year round working French village which, unlike others in the region, remains open throughout the winter, including bars and restaurants.
It is the centre of the French pipe making industry with several workshops in the town and is also renowned for its carpet weaving.
The nearest major town to Cogolin is St Tropez (10km) and is a must for a visit with its chic shops, yachts, markets and quayside artists.
The property is close to many beautiful beaches but the nearest beach is at Marines de Cogolin (5km) an ideal spot for small children. Cogolin is also the perfect base from which to explore the picturesque country side, unspoilt villages and spectacular coast of Provence.
Fully equipped kitchen with electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge freezer, microwave and toaster.
The washing machine and an additional drinks fridge are situated in the covered area just outside of the front door.

The upstairs balcony leading from the main bedroom has a small table and two chairs.
At the front of the house there is a covered area with a storage cupboard for garden chairs, 2 bikes and beach toys. The washing machine and the extra "drinks fridge" are in a separate storage cupboard.
Space directly outside the front of the property for one vehicle.
The 5 steps down to the property may make it difficult for people with impaired mobility to access the house.
No smokers or pets.

We are a retired couple who bought this property 10 years ago for family holidays. The family is now grown up but we still enjoy walking, cycling, swimming and drinking rose wine in the sun and Maison Albert is the perfect base to enjoy all these things.

|Why this location?||We first discovered the area over 30 years ago before children and on returning with family found that the area offered everything you could want for both young children and teenagers. The beaches are extremely safe, the weather is perfect, the sea is warm and both the coastal views and countryside are stunning.
Cogolin itself is a year round French village with plenty of small local shops, bars, restaurants as well as 3 large supermarkets and there are a number of local chateaux producing fine wine which you can taste with no obligation to buy. It is ideally located not only for the coast with its many beaches but also as a base to discover the interior of Provence away from the hustle and bustle of the seaside. There are two weekly local markets selling everything from fresh produce to hand made goods, clothes and flowers.
It is possible to cycle into St Tropez from Maison Albert in approximately 40 minutes and people watch on the famous quayside.
|Unique benefits of property||Maison Albert is situated above the village of Cogolin in a peaceful gated community which is made up primarily of French residents.
It is our home and as such you can expect lots of "home comforts" not usually found in a holiday rental property. It is cosy and comfortable with all you'll need for a perfect holiday - The kitchen is well equipped, separate toilet downstairs and free wifi. Off the main bedroom there is a south facing balcony and to get out of the sun a large awning for the rear garden. The parking place is directly in front of the house.
There are 2 pools available only to residents of the estate with access only with a key - one small pool for young children and babies and a large pool which is not only fun to play in but is also large enough to actually swim in. The pool has toilets, showers and changing facilities.
Restaurants - Del Sol which is perfect for families and for a special treat Petit Maison and Lili chez Allan. L’un des Sens also offers a reasonably priced set menu both lunch time and evenings.
Places to visit are almost too numerous to mention - St Tropez is a must with its yachts, designer shops, quayside artists and bars. Pampelonne beach with its famous Club 55 is probably one of the best places for star spotting.
The hillside villages of Grimaud, Bormes les Mimosas, Ramatuelle and Gassin are some of the most picturesque places in France and have amazing views of the coast and countryside.
The area is saturated with vineyards and especially recommended are Chateau Minuty and Chateau St Maur, both of which can be visited without appointments and the delicious produce sampled and purchased, but there's no obligation to buy at all.
Port Grimaud is a modern take on old Venice with its beautiful waterfront properties built around a canal system where it is possible to hire a small boat (no licence required) but also a larger motor boat if you have the required licence. The child friendly beach at Port Grimaud has a water sports centre with paddle boarding, wind surfing and dinghies for hire.
What can i say from the moment of booking to the time we had in Maison Albert was excellent. The home owner was only too happy to answer any questions we had re. property and surrounding area in France that would be good to visit.
The area is very beautiful and the property has been maintained to a high standard and was a home from home experience.

Would definetly recommend this property and its location and we would like to return some day to explore more of this wonderful place.
Thank you Amanda for writing such a nice review of your stay at Maison Albert. It's our real "home from home" and, as such, its always great when our guests love it as much as we do. It's a beautiful area with loads to see and do and you'll hopefully return and explore some more!!!
Lovely cottage in great location with all home comforts making the stay very much a home from home for the duration of our holiday. Great communication with the owner in the run up to our stay, during and thereafter, very responsive and with a persona touch. We had a small issue with the awning during our stay (our fault for not reading instructions properly) but again the owner was very responsive and the issue was fixed with the help of her lovely friends who were available to help us out. The location is great for accessing St Tropez and Port Grimaud as well as numerous other towns and villages nearby.
Thanks Denise for taking the time to write a review and it's very much appreciated. We try hard to make everyone's holiday as enjoyable as we possibly can and it's lovely to know that we've succeeded. I look forward to hearing from you again very soon.
