Below are just a few recommendations. But do you let us know what types of things you like doing on holiday; we're more than happy to put a more personalised list together for you, as well as keep our eyes open for specific events that you may enjoy when you come to stay.
With easy access to A8 motorway as well as coastal routes, here a some of the Riviera's most famous towns you'll be able to visit.
• Cannes: 22kms (30 minutes)
• Antibes: 37kms (30-40 minutes)
• Saint-Tropez and Saint Maxime: 56kms coastal route or 68kms motorway (60-70 minutes)
• Nice: 52kms (50 minutes)
• Grasse: 38kms motorway or 32kms on the scenic route (30-45 minutes)
• Mougins: 26kms (20 minutes)
• Saint Paul de Vence: 46kms (40 minutes)
• Monaco: 73kms (60 minutes)
• Gorge du Verdon/Lavender fields at Valensole : 110kms (2 hours)
• Lorgue: 52kms (40 minutes)
• Aix en Provence: 133kms (90 minutes)
• Frejus/Saint-Raphaël: 18-20kms (20 minutes)
• Mandelieu-la-Napoule: 20kms (20 minutes)
There are many local markets to visit, but here are just a few that you could explore.
Our local village has a very small market twice a week - Sunday and Wednesday mornings. You'll be able to get fresh fruit and veg here, bread and pastries, spit roasted chicken and charcuterie.
At Montauroux - a 15-minute drive away - there's a fantastic Marché Paysan. Housed in a large farming shed, this 'Farmers Market' is open 5 days a week. Here you'll find a variety of local produce from local farmers - from a whole host of seasonal fruit and veg, to local duck, bread, wine, jams and cheese.
Fayence, the largest of several rustic perched villages in the area, has a market three times a week in the village square - Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Fruit and vegetables vie for prime position as cheese and bread blend perfectly with clothes, pottery and jewellery. Spices and cured meats compete to titillate your taste-buds.
The Marché Forville is a large market in the heart of Cannes. You'll find fresh fruit, vegetables and wonderful homemade delights made by local farmers – olives, pickles, cured meats, cheeses and breads. Head here on Mondays for the flea market and lots of great bric-a-brac stalls.
Of course, it has been hard carrying out research in this area! Voyaging around the beautiful countryside dropping into vineyards to taste their wines! Here are a few recommendations close to us, but we'll have plenty more for you by the time you arrive.
Starting at Tourrettes, (15 minutes away), why not spend an afternoon and pop in to Domaine de Grand Bastide. Then follow the road towards Sellians and you will see signs for several other vineyards signed. We'd recommend stopping off at Chateux des Selves to taste their wines on its beautiful terrace with views over its vineyard. And then just across the road and up a small track, is a very small vineyard tucked away in the most beautiful valley. Val d'Iris takes its name from the old iris plantation that was here and which supplied flowers to Grasse for perfume.
Although Provence is renowned for its Rose, all three also have a range of reds and whites.
There are plenty of beaches nearby to relax and admire the palatial yachts, from well-equipped stretches to more secluded coves.
The nearest beaches are only 17kms away - a beautiful scenic drive down into Mandelieu-la-Napoule. Here there are seven beaches to choose from, two small small beaches next to the Château in the town and several others as you head along the seafront to Cannes. You'll be able to dine at a beach front restaurants, hire a small boat or paddle board, or just soak up the sun and take a dip.
In Cannes, you have all the glamour of the private beaches.
However, some of our favourite beaches are in the other direction. Head along to Theole sur Mer (just a few minutes from Mandelieu) and you'll find much smaller coves around the headland, which are as good as it gets for snorkeling, as well as smaller conventional beaches in the town.
Carry on to Agay, a lovely modest bay and a subdued spot for happy holidays, which has seduced everyone I know who has ever been there.
For the drive of a lifetime get on the Corniche d’Or, which snakes along the rugged coast from Mandelieu-la-Napoule (a scenic 10 minute drive from here) to Saint-Raphaël and Frejus. It is said to be one of the most beautiful routes in France.
The landscape here is completely different to anything you'll find elsewhere on the Cote d'Azur. Here the Esterel Mountains meet the Mediterranean in spectacular fashion, and the red volcanic stone radiates light.
Passing through Theoule sur Mer, Trayas, Anthéor and Agay, the most spectacular parts are the Pointe de l'Esquillon, Cap Roux with a beautiful set of rocks plunging into the sea and finally the Cape of Dramont and the Golden Island.
