The villa has an open design with an upscale kitchen, 3 bedrooms en suite, a large living/dining room with fireplace and it is beautifully finished throughout. The house is fully furnished with all the modern conveniences (electric heating, electric stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer and a large American refrigerator with ice cubes). The villa is on a two acre lot of flowering shrubs, cypress, pine, olive and fig trees. It is maintained to preserve the unspoiled natural beauty of its rugged environment. One can refresh and relax by the outdoor swimming pool while taking in the splendid view of the Provençal countryside and distant hills. The adjacent outdoor patio offers a perfect setting for tranquil al fresco evening meals and sunny breakfasts.
The villa has a modern kitchen which is fully equipped to meet all your cooking needs. It has an electric stove, microwave and dishwasher. Its large American refrigerator and ice box offers much room for storing all your perishables. Next to the kitchen is a pantry to store supplies. You will enjoy the windview from the kitchen while preparing your meals.
The dining area adjacent to the living room is perfect for seasonal weather. While eating there, you will be surrounded by two antique furniture pieces making it a perfect Provence experience. You may also wish to light the fire in the open fireplace in the living room and take in the scenery through the large glass window facing you. But in the fine weather, you will prefer to dine on the veranda outside. Close to the kitchen, you can sit and watch the sun rise in the morning time and also watch it set in the evening time. While there, you will overlook the swimming pool and terrace nearby and may feel like a quick swim to refresh
This beautiful living room is open to the dining room and kitchen. It is bright and sunny as it leads to the outdoor veranda. Modern in design, it is furnished accordingly with two large sofas. There you can sist and watch television or movies after a long day of touring local sights. The fireplace in the living room adds additional comfort and is to be enjoyed in the cold weather. While sitting in the living room, you will be surrounded by the beautiful Provence countryside and hills visible through the large front window. The living room is especially peaceful and tranquil for your complete relaxation. On the shelves you will find great books and interesting materials to peruse for a quiet evening.
The master bedroom is a delight. Its double glass doors leads to an outside terrace with a view of the pool and the Provence hills. It also features a back window bringing in more light. Inside, the room is tastefully furnished with a comfortable queen size bed and two reading lights placed on stands on either side. Next is a dressing area with a stand alone mirror plus a desk for writing.
The second bedroom is smaller but also has double glass doors leading onto an outside terrace with similar views. It comes with a large closet for storage. Its lighting is perfect for reading before bed time.
The third bedroom offers a view of the front entrance. It is bright bringing in the sunshine through its large window which opens out with a screen. This bedroom is very private and tastefully decorated in the Provence style with floral drapes and lighting. Its queen sized bed is extra comfortable. It is the closest to the kitchen for a quick snack during the night.
The master bathroom is exceptional. It is bright with two windows to take in the outside. The entire space is beautifully tiled with different tiles in the shower and toilet. The bathroom offers a large tub to soak in. Beside it is the modern shower with its rounded entrance. Next is the washstand area with double mirrors and basins. In the corner is the private toilet with yet different local tiles. The master bathroom also offers storage for linens and clothes. It is truely magnificent.
The second bathroom supports that front bedroom. This bathroom is complete with local blue and white tiles. Its shower, toilet and washstand are all fresh and bright. The third bathroom supports the back bedroom. It is finished with yellow and white local tiles. It offers a modern shower and washstand with double basins and a large mirror. In the hallway is a modern toilet and washbasin for everyone's convenience. It is cheerfully decorated with a bunch of local dried flowers smiling at you.
There is an open wood-burning fireplace in the living room and a selection of heaters throughout the house and also in each room. Together, they are very effective in heating the house.
The area has much to offer in terms of sporting activities such as walking, hiking, biking, horse-back riding, etc. There is much entertainment in the surrounding villages from open markets, wine tastings at local vineyards, art exhibitions,
to cultural events unique to the region.
In my villa, I keep a large bowl of information on local activities and sights for my visitors to peruse and take advantage of. My visitors really appreciate this pletora of information and select from it for their enjoyment.
The villa is on a two acre lot with flowering shrubs and a variety of trees including olive, fig, pine and cypress. The garden is maintained to preserve the natural beauty of its surrounding rugged environment.

I have been told by visitors that my villa is the most beautiful they have seen. It is modern with all the necessary conveniences. It offers the best of all worlds - a modern facility in a tranquil countryside offering privacy and relaxation. Ideally located close to villages and markets to buy daily fresh produce, meats, breads and wines for home cooking but not forgetting the fine restaurants and cafes nearby for an evening out.
Review (Summer 2019)
The Provence Villa
This may sound a little cliché, but if you’ve been trawling through advert after advert to find the perfect villa retreat……then I’ll save you some time, because you have just found it.
Being a seasoned traveller in many different guises, I’ve roughed it with a backpack, stayed in the very best hotels and rented many a villa. I can honestly say that Margaret Connor’s Provence Villa is by far the loveliest that I’ve ever had the good fortune to stumble upon.
There is an attention to detail here, and a want for nothing approach that tells you that it isn’t just a rental……it’s a home. Trust me, there is a huge difference.
The setting couldn’t be more perfect. Sedate and lovely Entracasteaux is just a matter of minutes away by car, where you can take in the beautiful, laid back ,typical Provence town with wonderful Chateau and stock up on essentials. You are within easy reach of countless, character filled, beautiful little places such as Cotignac (definitely worth a visit). Sillans de Cascade, Verdon Gorge, endless vineyards and still only a little over an hours drive to the likes of St Tropez.
It is however always nice to get back ‘home’……albeit a temporary rented one. But here I think is the difference…..you really do feel at home.
The pool is a joy and the outside space meticulously maintained and beautiful. The villa is tiered into the hillside and so the properties here (this isn’t an estate, it’s independently owned and built properties dotted amongst the hillside) enjoy their own very private, large space and you could easily forget that there might even be anyone else within miles of you. And the view!!! You look out across the tree tops into the rolling landscape of Provence……it is simply breathtaking.
This is a spacious villa, a beautiful one. Even the tiling throughout the several bathrooms I considered an old school French work of art. I honestly could not have wished for a more perfect place to relax.
The villas owner, Margaret, was an absolute pleasure to deal with, prompt and informative answers to any questions and a real sense that she cares. Extremely professional and an absolute delight.
I’m often quite busy (always in fact) …….I don’t generally post reviews, it takes something very special to make me want to. I didn’t just want to….. I felt compelled to.
I will be returning (that’s also something I never generally do) …..See, experience, move on, is normally my outlook. This Provence Villa will draw me back and there are very, very few places that do that.
So……stop looking and book the place, before somebody else gets the little slice of heaven that could be part of your fondest memories for years to come.

|Why this location?||Provence is very desirable. It offers sunshine, clean air, nature, blue skies, space, safety, mountains, lakes, ocean, natural resources. One can enjoy great produce, vineyards, local cuisine, fine restaurants, cafes with daily baked pastries. One can explore historic sights, medieval villages, visit the homes of the great painters, walk in their footsteps, observe the landscape of their works. One can visit local markets, purchase local crafts and attend local cultural events. Close by are the great cities of Aux, Nice and Grasse. Near by are the homes of stars like Brad Pitt and George Clooney among many others. It is possible to take day trips to Avignon, the Popes' residence of 100 years and pass Pont du Gard, a world heritage monument, and also the ancient Roman amphitheater in LIm and while in Arles, stop by to visit the home of Vincent VanGogh where he painted the courtyard and the nearby cafe. Finally, don't miss out on a side trip to the breath taking Gorges du Verdon.|
|Unique benefits of property||The magnificant view, the beautiful surrounding countryside, the Provence hills, the privacy, the tranquility, the fresh air, nature all around. My villa is spacious, modern on the inside, open, bright, sunny, beautifully tiled and finished. It offers a completely equiped kitchen for all your cooking needs, the veranda next to the kitchen is perfect for all your dining. The swimming pool is private with a lovely board walk and terrace. My villa is on the end of a road on a hillside with no through traffic. The entrance and driveway are beautiful with shrubs growing on either side along with fig and olive trees. On front of the pool is a garden with seventeen olive trees in an elegant row. The native flowering shrubs come in full bloom in the summer months and are spectacular. Within fifteen walk is the medieval village of Entrecasteaux with its castle and fountain. My villa offers easy access to the freeway, yet it is totally quiet and private offering you a perfect getaway.|
