'La Bastide de Correns' is a large Provencal country house, set on three acres of private grounds just outside the small, very French organic farming village of Correns.
Our guest house is available to rent and it is very private with its own entrance, small garden and two great terraces - a lovely sunny terrace off the kitchen, perfect for breakfast in the morning and a fabulous larger terrace, equipped with dining table, bbq and an outdoor lounge and mood lighting, where you can relax until late in the evening and enjoy those wonderful uninterrupted views over the countryside.
Most bedrooms are available with kingsize double or twin beds and are nicely decorated in a palette of crisp white, grey and beige, with hotel quality beds, excellent linens, window shutters and ceiling fans ensure a cool and restful sleep. We advertise a 3 double bedroomed house here but one room may be closed off if not required.
Presented to a very high standard and with lots of personal touches, a high quality tv and sound system as well as an assortment of games and books are supplied to add to your enjoyment.
The private pool is heated in the springtime and autumn. It measures 14x5m, there is a large pool area surrounding it with sunbeds, parasols, tables & chairs, an outdoor shower and a grassed area with plenty of shade under the oak trees.

Most of our guests spend their nights in the outdoor lounge, marvelling at the views, photographing the sunsets, enjoying the absolute stillness of the night as well as spotting the occasional four legged visitors to our woodland garden below.
Guests will enjoy wide open spaces with many different areas in which to relax, in the sun or the shade. A large heated swimming pool, spacious pool area decorated with sun loungers, parasols, an outdoor shower and many places to relax in the sun or shade of the oak trees.

We are a short walk to the small, very French village of Correns, which enjoys an organic farming life and a passion for music.
For activity lovers - Correns is adventure playground for adults and children alike with many leisure activities for you to enjoy, literally on our doorstep : cycling; mountain biking; hiking; rock climbing at the famous Vallon Sourn; tennis; boules; fishing; kayaking; horse riding; bathing and a children's playground are all provided for in our little village.
In 1997 Correns was nominated the "First BIO Village in France" and our farmers proudly produce organic wine, goats cheese, eggs, chickens, honey, olive oil, truffle and a variety of vegetables direct available to buy direct from the producers - takes more time to do your shopping but s great experience to meet the locals and enjoy fresh seasonal food grown in and around our village.
The village itself has a boulangerie, organic food store, convenience store, news agent, post office, hairdresser, beautician, masseur, tourist office, a Catholic Church, an Auberge (small hotel), a restaurant, a bar/cafe and a great pop up outdoor family restaurants and markets during the summer season.
All year there are live music events, at the outdoor theatre in summer and in the castle in winter.
In summer there is a weekly market, an annual Organic weekend, exhibits of art, sculpture and concerts in the historic church.
Around the Area
We are surrounded by a number of lively tourist villages : Cotignac with its magnificent backdrop and Carces with its beautiful lake. Other villages to explore include the historic Salernes, the Grottes at Villecroze, beautiful TourTour 'village in the sky' the fabulous Basilica at St Maximin and bustling Lorgues.
From Correns, you are ideally positioned to explore this lovely region - we are midway between Côte d'Azur and the wonderful Gorges du Verdon, the beaches at St Tropez, the lively and beautiful city of Aix-en-Provence and edgy Marseille all are within 50 minutes drive and make for a perfect day trip.
Even at the height of summer the house, with its traditional white walls, high beamed ceilings and tiled floors remains cool. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything provided for even the most dedicated home chef. Dining table and six chairs indoors, with two stools at the kitchen island.

The cosy living room has two good couches, an armchair, footstool. there is a flat screen tv, dvd player, radio, lots of games, books, movies for you to enjoy.
Everywhere has been tastefully decorated as a ‘home away from home’ with comfortable sofas, hotel quality beds, linens and towels, good fixtures and fittings and all modern conveniences to ensure you have a comfortable stay.
Most bedrooms are available with a choice of kingsize or twin beds and are decorated in a palette of crisp white, grey and beige, with accents of yellow, pink, blue and green, reflecting the vibrant colours of the spectacular countryside surrounding the house. There are three bathrooms, 2 en suite and one spacious family bathroom with a large bath, shower, twin tubs and a washing machine & dryer.

The property is suitable for families and young children. It is particularly suited to a family of different generations as some rooms are independent. In addition to the 3beds advertised here we have an additional Independent Suite suited to 2 adults.
There are stairs up to two double bedrooms and the family bathroom (with bath). The family room in the ground floor with an en-suite shower room. Not suitable for wheelchair access.
We have excellent free wifi in the house and at the pool area, which is rare in France.
We live in a very quite residential area just outside the tiny village of Correns, which is very French.
The property is not suited to party groups as the area is very quiet.
We are an Irish couple who semi-retired to provence after years travelling the world for work and pleasure. We are delighted to share our corner of heaven with our guests and work very hard to make sure that you have a wonderful holiday with everything you need at our property.

Le Petite Marmite is a family run restaurant which serves delicious french food at reasonable cost. The chef, his wife and daughter provide a great service and the food is beautifully presented.
Just outside of Correns is the protected nature zone of the Vallon Sourn where you can walk, bath, picnic and climb the internationally ranked cliffs or watch the climbers above from the comfort of your beach towel!
Lovely small hotel with a great restaurant serving traditional french food. A lovely outdoor terrace for dining al fresco in the summer and a quaint indoors for winter time.
Europe's Grand Canyon - a day trip from Correns (50mins). There are a ton of watersports and activities available in and around the canyon and its very busy in summer.
You'll be spoilt for choice in this region which is just full of vineyards!
The river Argens flows through the centre of Correns village and continue to the coast at St Maxime where it joins the med. Kayaking in the village centre is a hugely popular activity - 10 min walk.
