About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Christina Simms

We are Charlie and Christina Simms. We part-own this property with Christina's parents and enjoy visiting the gite regularly. We were both introduced to France as children and have enjoyed spending many holidays either camping or visiting family over the years. Now we have our own family, we enjoy frequent breaks to Merlimont and spent a year there in 2009 so that our three children could go to French school and learn the language and culture.

Year property purchased 1999
Why this location? This is an area of France that Charlie visited often as a child, spending many school holidays with family friends. One of his dreams was to have a holiday home in Merlimont that we could bring the family to, so that our children could enjoy the same special times with friends and family that he did as a young boy, and learn a second language which is always important to have. Merlimont is also only 4 hours door to door from our home in Suffolk so it's very quick and easy to get to for short breaks or to make an emergency visit to buy a new fridge/freezer (which has happened)!
Unique benefits of property The main benefit of our property is that it is so close to the UK. The journey includes a short ferry/train journey which makes Merlimont a very easily accessible place to visit, even for a weekend. The house itself has enclosed gardens both front and back, providing a safe play area for young children. There is ample parking for 2 cars in the driveway and a further car on the grass verge at the front of the gite. The garden at the front offers a patio area, canopy and lighting and the rear garden is home to a patio area, canopy and fantastic bbq Inside, the property has been furnished to give that 'home from home' feel that so many of our visitors feed back to us about. We have installed an electronic door entry system for the ease and convenience of not having to search for keys and you will choose your own codes for the doors so they will be codes that you can easily remember. The logburner in the living room is sufficient to heat the entire house on those cold, winter nights.

The Gite is close to the shops, a great boulangerie and very good restaraunts. The beech is a leisurely 15 minute walk: A very good long sandy beech. The owners went the extra mile and quickly resolved any. queries we had . We would recommend staying here
