This 300 year old 3 bedroom farmhouse with FREE wi-fi is in a traditional French village with nearby bakery in a rural region of northern France, 1 hour away from Calais and Eurotunnel and just 2 1/2 hours from Paris Charles de Gaulle or Brussels airports for international travellers.
This spacious property has original features throughout and has been tastefully decorated with all mod cons considered. It has exposed beams throughout, including the fireplace mantle dating from 1781. The cottage has a large, well equipped handbuilt kitchen, separate utility room and ground floor wc, large living room with leather sofas and frenchdoors to the terrace and garden. Upstairs is a family shower room and 3 bedrooms - 2 large double bedrooms (1 with en suite shower-room) and a twin bedroom - all rooms have exposed beams.
This property is situated in a small village close to Montreuil sur Mer, famous for Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables, and is in the heart of the village with a communual petanque court opposite to enjoy and a fabulous bakery 50m from the property. Off road parking is provided in the flowered courtyard and the garden is enclosed and laid to lawn with views across the fields.
Towels, bed linen, gas and water are included, although there is a small charge for the electric. Local Tourist Tax is payable on arrival and is set at 80ct per adult per night. We also provide a welcome pack of fresh croissants, jam and a bottle of wine to enjoy. For special occasions we can organise champagne, flowers and chocolates. Freeview tv is available or enjoy a dvd.

Visit the sandy beaches of the coast, or explore the lovely villages and towns in this unspoilt area of France and enjoy the traditional weekly markets or seasonal Sunday brocantes where you can buy French antiques and crafts.

Lived in France for 16 years and we have 3 rental cottages with a 4th being developed for 2019. Children all grown up so now have time for enjoying the lovely countryside, cooking and looking after our guests. I work for UK holiday company as a Consultant, love crafts and walking our dogs on the local beaches.

This area is famous for its village fetes and brocantes throughout the summertime. Come and explore and grab some bargains. The vast sandy beaches of the Cote D'Opale area short drive away and offer over 250km of fine sandy, ideal for sandcastles or just walking - lovely in the summertime and great for brisk walks on chillier days.
Local towns include Montreuil sur Mer with its famous ramparts, cobbled squares and history, Saint Omer and the surrounding marshlands which are famed for vegetables and where you can visit the area by barge. Musueums to the two Wars are also very interesting, particularly La Coupoule. The Somme Region is a short drive away and we can recommend some amazing places to visit there.
Local cuisine is fabulous and we can send you to some lovely restaurants where we personally know the owners and where you can have a great meal, be it steak and chips or a Plateau Fruit de Mer.
Cycling and walking are very popular and we have a French Rambling Route on the doorstep of the cottage to explore. Golfers will love the 18 hole Golf Course at Saint Omer with its challenging course and 9hole course. Tee-times can be booked if required.
Le Touquet with its boutique shops is not to be missed or visit the bird santuary at Marquenterre, with its migratory birds and is a fascintating day out.
The largest aquarium in Europe (Nausicca) can be found at Boulogne sur Mer and makes for an educational and interesting day out where you can see the sealife and even touch some rays.
Venture further afield and enjoy Lille, a City of Culture, or even Brugges in Belgium - canals and chocolates away - both about 1 1/2 hours from the property.
