The chateau is situated where Burgundy, Auvergne and Beaujolais come together and is set in its own gated grounds with heated swimming pool high above the valley with views over the foothills of the Beaujolais mountains and the Auvergne.
White Burgundy Charolais cows graze in the valley below.
On entering the chateau you will find a 9m high hall of honour surrounded by a minstrels gallery with fireplace and ceremonial oak stairs.
In the walnut panelled dining room the truce of the grapes (Treve Raisin) was signed under the carved gaze of Baccus the god of wine above the fireplace.
This treaty brought to an end the dispute between the warring growers of Beaujolais, Burgundy and the Loire valley.
The salon is modelled on a music room in the Chateau of Fontainebleu, a former Kings residence near to Paris.
You can socialise and cook at the same time as the kitchen is surrounded by a bar with visual access to all of the above rooms.

The interior of the chateau is non smoking and pets are not allowed.
Nearby is the 14th century hill village of Perreux and the regional town of Roanne in which is situated the famous Michelin 3 star restaurant Troisgros.
The world heritage city of Lyon is 1 hour away.
The kitchen is surrounded by a bar and is fully equipped including cooker, double oven and rings, microwave, American fridge-freezer with ice maker, dishwasher and washing machine.
The Dining Room is the salon modelled on the Music Room of the Chateau of Fontainebleu a second dining table is in the Pool room.

Not really suitable for wheelchair users but we have in the past welcomed disabled guests who can manage with suitable assistance from their friends or relatives.
