There is a large open plan living/dining/cooking area with a large dining table to seat up to 22 guests. The chalet has ample parking, ski/bike storage as well as a garage and boot room.
The nearest ski lifts are in Auris which is a 10 min drive up the road, from there you can ski across to Alp d'Huez in about 20 mins. Alp d'Huez is an amazing ski area for all abilities with an abundance of beginner, intermediate and expert runs. Les Deux Alps is just a 30 min drive over the valley and opens up two more mountains to explore. All in all the chalet offers the guests two holidays in one with some of the best ski and bike terrain in the world.
We are happy to have as much or little interaction as you'd like. We are both experienced ski/snowboard and mountain bike enthusiasts and have a good knowledge base of the area. We are happy to accompany guests around the mountain if requested and also offer a babysitting and mountain drop off/collection service.
The Chalet is in a small village called La Balme. It is one of the most beautiful villages in the Alps perched on the side of the mountain. There are breathtaking views down the valley. The village is quite and safe so perfect for families. If you are looking for bars and clubs within walking distance this probably isn't for you as the busiest resort is approx 30 min drive away. We can however offer a drop off/collection service if pre-arranged with a time.
There are buses up to Auris but these can be irregular. The best thing to do would be to self drive/hire a car to get around. Alternatively we can offer a ski/bike lift service at an additional cost.

Auris is also connected via 3 chairlifts, about 15 minutes to the Grand domaine of Alpe d'Huez. A large resort with 250km of piste, a large selection of restaurants, shops and bars. Most famous for staging the Tour de France mountain climb of the 21 hairpin bends, so summer is busy with road cyclists about 6/7 months of the year.
