|Why this location?||Atlantic seaside town less than 3 hour drive from St Malo.
Good touring centre and coastal walks.
|Unique benefits of property||Well equipped apartment in a quiet French town with coastal views.
Great fish, shellfish, wine and cheese all on the doorstep
Seaside apartment. Peche a pied. Oysters, palourdes and shrimps etc at low tide. The tide goes out for over 1km! Local activities include tennis, boules, fishing, golf and watersports. Thalassotherapy complex 4 km. 15km or more of uninterrupted coastline walks.
Under 1km (walking distance). The town has numerous bars, cafes and several hotels. Best food in town is at the "Artimon". Soigne cooking. Menu around 28 Euros, reservation essential. The "Grand Large" seafront restaurant/ hotel (English speaking proprietor). Casual there is "Les Ton Tons Nageurs" actually on the beach. Many other good restaurants along the coast and in Pornic.
We love the beach across the road from the apartment, when the tide comes in there are lots of lovely little coves and rock pools. When the tide goes out you can walk out for over 1KM and join the locals collecting shellfish ( Mussels, Oysters, Palourdes)
There are several beaches a short distance towards Pornic, we like "La Source" and " La Fontaine aux Bretons". This summer we walked there and caught the local free shuttle service back to "La Boutinardiere".
Pornic beaches - we like both Porteau and Portmain just north of Pornic.
There is a nice golf course at Pornic
We highly recommend a visit over to the Island of Noirmoutier. The island can be seen from the apartment. If you time it right you can drive across the "passage du gois" at low tide or via the bridge. Visit the salt marshes, Noirmoutier town, try some watersports or spend an afternoon at the waterpark "Oceanile"
A very comfortable apartment / villa (about 2h 30m from St Malo by car) with everything you need for a holiday (washing machine, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, toaster, microwave combi oven/grill). WiFi and bluetooth for music etc.
Superb location for exploring the west coast and Loire Valley. Great walks from the doorstep - GR8 Sentier des Douaniers. If you like walking we recommend you get the IGN TOP 25 maps.
Lots of lovely eateries nearby. Local supermarket open every day. Great bakeries.
Helpful staff in the local tourist office. Be aware of the tides.
Very helpful owner who provided really useful information.
The property was clean & appeared to be freshly decorated.
Beds were comfy & the kitchen was well stocked.
Very private balcony.
Apartment very hand for the on-site pool
The village was a 10 minute walk away, was friendly, had a good market & lovely beaches.
Stairs in the apartment are a bit tricky when carrying bags/cases up them but this was clearly advertised.
Enjoyed my stay, would recommend.
I found the owner to be helpful & friendly
Home from home!
Well situated near to the beach and a short stroll into the lovely little market town. The apartment was clean and very well equipped with everything we needed for a two week stay. The children loved the pool. Would happily recommend the apartment to our friends and go back again. Good value for money.
