We can not recommend this property high enough !! Glen & Yvonne and Patsy are the most incredible hosts nothing was too much trouble making it our best ever holiday. Our two boys 7+9 thoroughly enjoyed horse riding in the surrounding forests and I went on a fantastic hack around the large lake and tracks having not ridden for over 10 years. We all learnt how to fish in the beautiful lakes just a 2 minute walk across the meadow with Glens incredible patience and kindness which was a true highlight for Freddy !! The Farmhouse has so much character and everything you could possibly need. It is incredibly spacious with a Fantastic full size pool table/ games room upstairs and very large garden at the back of the house with lovely heated pool, swing ropes in the trees, badminton net, football goal, bbq ,sun loungers, table and chairs etc all overlooking lovely meadows and forests. There is a local shop which has everything you could need -10 mins away, a brilliant market at Chateau Briant (30 mins), Go Karting (30mins), kayaking and pedalos (15 mins) and so much more at Nantes,Rennes etc that we did not do as we spent so much time at the property. The house is set in the most lovely surrounding with so many bike rides that can all be done straight from the property. The last highlights to mention was Rascal & Buttons the most well behaved and trained little dogs, guitar playing under the stars, A, fantastic relaxing fun holiday had by everyone with so many incredible memories!
Thank you Sophie for your wonderful review and to your lovely family, we enjoyed very much having you stay at La Verrerie and we would love to see you in the future!

Our two weeks at La Verrerie in delightful rural France was very relaxing and
enjoyable; horses in the field, friendly dogs in the yard, and cockerel crows in the
morning. It was peaceful and everything we could have wished for. Our hosts were
very helpful, and friendly. The family enjoyed the fishing and the horse-riding and
we all enjoyed the pool and garden, and the small children played happily in the
We made good use of the big living room and kitchen. We were not able to use the
top floor bedroom as it was too hot, but the remaining 3 bedrooms were sufficient
for our needs. A second shower over the bath would have been a welcome addition.
The garden furniture was well used but provided for what was needed; indeed we
ate outside all but one evening.
The property represents very good value for money; an idyllic setting and a variety
of attractions for all the family, clean and comfortable and provided a lovely home
for our holiday.
Thank you to the Durkin, we are so pleased you all had a lovely holiday, it was great to meet you! We have took on board about having a second shower over the bath which we will install this winter.
Best wishes to you all!
Yvonne, Glenn and Patsy
Both Glen and Yvonne made us feel welcomed from arrival to departure with nothing being too much trouble what ever we requested. Caught over 100 carp in the two weeks between us (3.5 fishing) although the lakes were low due to limited rainfall throughout the year. The largest being 23.5lb and the majority of the fish. Ring over 10lb. We all enjoyed the break and would recommend as a joint fishing and family break to anyone.
Thank you Karl and all the family, we are so happy that you all enjoyed your holiday and the fishing at La Verrerie, we would love to see you in the future.

Lovely rural area. Lots to do at the property, with the pool table, swimming pool, rowing boats and we particularly enjoyed using the bikes to explore the local roads, visiting the nearby Abbey. Nantes is a great day out - recommend Les Machines de l’ile and the little town train. We gave a lower mark for the condition as half the lights in the kitchen did not work and the bulbs were not replaced, despite being pointed out. We were told to use the cooker light instead. Riaille was a few miles away but had all the basic local amenities you would need.
Additional information not included in the description:
• There are dogs, hens and a cockerel on site.
• The owners live on the site.
• The property is about four miles from Riaille, down unnamed country roads so would recommend using SatNav and perhaps also detailed instructions from the owners as our SatNav sent us to the wrong place a couple of times.
• The property is totally dark at night, especially upstairs, where the bedroom is some distance from the stairs, so would suggest taking your own nightlights as the owners are not keen on lots of lights being on all night in the property.
Dear client, I am sorry that the kitchen lights had burnt out, I was not made aware of this and perhaps it was somebody else told you to use the cooker lights but it certainly was not me. With us living on site I only wish you had come to me and explained this and I would have gladly replaced the spot lights in the kitchen. We have bed side lamps in all of our bedrooms and ask customers to use them at night if they wish rather than the main spot ceiling lights which heat up a lot and burn out quickly, we do not charge for electric as many French rentals do charge by meter readings, we prefer to keep the cost down for our customers and remain aware of global warming this is why we put bedside lamps in the bedrooms with energy saving bulbs. Thank you for your comment on adding directions to our property from our commune village of Riaillé I will certainly add the directions to this site. Kind regards Yvonne Gibson
