Ideal for fishing, bird watching or just soaking up the atmosphere
The historic and picturesque towns of Domfront, Mayenne, Fougere and Laval are all within 45 min drive. The pretty seaside resort of Carrolles is approx 55 miles away which is close to the busy resort of Jullouville.
A lovely welcoming cottage which lived up to its description. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is rural but easily accessible and there are plenty of places to visit in the area. The weather was mostly good, so we spent a lot of time outside in the grounds and of course fishing in the lake. The owners were helpful in responding to queries and the guest information pack was useful, together with an excellent selection of tourist information leaflets to browse through.
The whole process of booking was very easy, Andrew (the owner) provided all the information that we needed. The gite is in a lovely setting and had everything we needed for our holiday. It was very peaceful and relaxing. I enjoyed sitting by the lake fishing and listening to the birds. We had a family of red squirrels visit the garden every morning.
Lovely rural setting in own grounds with a pretty lake down the hill and through the woods. Only caught a few small fish in the lake but enjoyed the wildlife all around. The house is in the middle of the countryside but Gorron with a supermarket and typical small town shops was only ten minutes by car so very convenient. The house was clean and well equipped and the friendly cows in the field next to the track acknowledged us each day! A lovely area to explore.
A lovely typical country style house in the most beautiful setting with spacious grounds, woods and a lake. This is the ideal location for touring many parts of Normandy and Brittany, situated near to Gorron which has small shops and restaurants and a large supermarket which sells everything you need.
The house itself is very comfortable and homely, with a very well equipped new kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, bath and two showers, English TV and DVD player and lovely views over the surrounding fields and countryside.
It is a lovely place to relax & unwind with an abundance of birds and wildlife within the grounds, yet within fairly easy reach of the coast (Mont St Michael is worth a visit) and also the numerous small villages and larger towns (Mayeinne etc).
The owner was very informative and provided answers to all my queries prior to our visit and I would not hesitate to recommend this property to others and indeed hopefully will return at some time in the future.
