About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Vivienne Fairytale-Castle

We are a very happy small British family who came to France years ago to pursue our fairytale dream of living in a chateau in the French countryside. We have shared our property with the most extraordinary guests, and we really enjoy being able to provide this exceptional and romantic experience to others. We hope you have an amazing time!

Year property purchased 2001
Why this location? The chateau & its grounds were so magnificent that we would have bought this property on that basis alone, but the area is one of outstanding natural beauty. Its rolling hills, rivers and lakes, vast landscapes, beautiful skies and lush vegetation are truly unique . However, the region offers much more than bucolic delights; our proximity to airports & ferries, Paris, the chateaux of the Loire, Normandy & Brittany, plus immediate access to the dynamic & beautiful city of Laval mean that we are never bored or isolated. Multiple markets in nearby towns and villages give us access to amazing meats, fish, cheeses & wine. There are so many exciting things to do nearby that we still have not experienced them all, and the local food is some of the best in France (especially for meat and cheese). And don't forget wine tasting in the nearby Touraine & Saumur! Though most of France is beautiful, we would never trade our location for any other. It is truly remarkable and exceptionally lovely.
Unique benefits of property Though the area is wonderful and there are countless activities to explore nearby, it is not necessary to ever leave the chateau itself. Whether fishing in your very own private lake, canoeing, swimming, having lazy barbecues, watching movies & playing games in the cinema (whilst enjoying the heated, massaging chairs), or simply reading a book under the 250-year-old Cedar of Lebanon, one is never bored. And, of course, for those who appreciate architecture, the chateau has a wealth of exceptional features and details. For fans of the garden, something wonderful is in bloom at all times: roses, lavenders, camellias, magnolias, lilies, fruit trees, etc. It is not until you are there in person can you truly appreciate the atmosphere of such a magical place... serene, romantic, whimsical, fragrant, relaxing, inspiring and fun. There is nothing else like it anywhere on earth!
