Les Gages offers B&B in dedicated accommodation in 18th Century farmhouse.
We are located in rural bliss, but only 3 km from our village of Brecé, and just 4 km from the town of Gorron, both of which offer all the required amenities.
While the dedicated B&B accommodation provides sleeping for 6, if the number of guests requiring B&B exceeds this, the gites can also be used if they are free. This can provide sleeping up to 18 in total.
The B&B accommodation has a dining room, a lounge and large private lawn and gardens in which to relax.
All B&B guests have free coffee and tea making facilities.
The lounge has settees, easy chairs, coffee-tables to give our guests that home from home feel.
There is a UK satellite tv, a mini hi-fi unit for radio/tapes/cds, dvd player, boardgames and a small library including guide books/maps.
On the first floor there is:
One double bedroom with a double bed.
One family room with a double bed and a single bed. A cot can also be provided if required.
There is an additional single bed on the large landing which is screened off to give privacy.
Additional sleeping can be provided in the gites for larger parties.
There is a Bathroom with bath/shower, washbasin, shaver socket and wc.
Heating is central with wall radiators.
The B&B accommodation has a private patio equipped with garden furniture and sunloungers.
Our guests are free to use all the amenities at Les Gages; the games room, the pool, the playing field.
In the games room there is a library of books for guests to use which includes novels of all tastes as well as reference books.
The games room has a pool table, table tennis, babyfoot (table football) as well as a "chill out" area for the children.
The heated swimming pool is available in season and is secure to current regulations.
There is a 14' trampoline in the playing field, as well as swings and a slide. The field is big enough for cricket or football.
There is a croquet set and a badminton set for use too.
There at 5 acres of grounds in which you are free to wander. In the copse, which has a marshy area, various flora and fauna can be observed.
There is secure parking alongside the Farmhouse.
Les Gages welcomes visitors all year round. The summer months are the most popular with families as there are many activities to pursue in the local area and the pool, trampoline and gamesroom are always extremely popular with the children.
Out of season, when school holidays are over, Les Gages is a tranquil and pleasant place to stay. Visitors of all ages welcome the quiet and the beauty, especially the crystal clear skies at night (no light pollution here!) to star gaze.
There are smoke/fire alarms, fire blankets and fire extinguishers and safety gates for the stairs, if required.
After working and living overseas from 1969 to 1998, Graham, a Telecomms Engineer and Janice, in PR, decided that retirement at 55 was not for us. Both with family backgrounds in hospitality, we set off in 2000 for France with two cars, two dogs, two cats, a parrot - and a dream. When we saw Les Gages we fell in love with it. Some trials and tribulations later, we have turned it from the proverbial pig's ear we found into the silk purse we dreamed of.

|Why this location?||We love the Mayenne - rural France at its best, very much like Devon was 40 years ago. Les Gages is not too far from the Normandy Channel ports, an ideal holiday spot for families with young children, and those who do not wish to travel too far to experience and enjoy France. Just a couple of hours driving from a channel port will give you the taste of French rural life at its best !|
|Unique benefits of property||Nestling in the rolling rural bliss of Mayenne, the 5 acres of Les Gages has many secluded areas in which parents can relax and unwind, while their children play in the fields, the heated swimming pool, on the trampolines and in the gamesroom, knowing that they are enjoying themselves and are totally secure. At Les Gages there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy.|
Those listed are just some of the many attractions in the area. The area is steeped in Anglo-French history, from the times of William Le Conquerant, the Plantaganets, the 100 Years War through to the Normandy landings of WWII.
