About this property

A Quaint Converted Farmhouse With a Modern Interior. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Set in the beautiful countryside of Pays de la Loire in France, the estate of Le Moulin de la Quentiniere comprises two stunning luxury 5 bedroom houses and a fantastic leisure complex complete with indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, gymnasium and gamesroom.

Outside, the courtyard leads down to a large garden for lazy days playing boules, British bulldog, football and rounders or just lying back and watching the clouds drift by....

The landscape surrounding this wonderful French property offers a vista of rolling pastures, grazing cattle and quiet roads.

Complete with quaint villages and friendly locals; an idyllic setting to while away the hours. Sit outside on the patio and enjoy un grand cafe, un kir de cassis or the local delicacy, un verre du pommeau....

We are located in the little village of Desertines, in the town of Gorron, the Mayenne department of the Pays de la Loire. For those who like to explore, it is an ideal base from which to travel to other places of interest.

Famous for its culinary superiority, France is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, receiving over 80 million foreign visitors each year. Visitors are attracted by the historic cities, the beautiful countryside along with the abundance of castles situated in the Loire Valley, and Brittany and Normandy. In addition, France offers an agreeable climate, some excellent beaches and a rich culture with food and wines that are among the most celebrated in the world.

La Petite Maison allows you to enjoy the comforts of country living in a modern farmhouse setting. It started out as the accommodation for the family working in the mill, providing basic accommodation of 5 standard bedrooms, with an office for the man of the house to sort the paperwork and then join the rest of the family for a hearty evening meal, lovingly prepared by his good lady wife in the farmhouse kitchen; very welcome after a long arduous day of graft.

More recently, La Petite Maison has been transformed; sleeping up to a maximum of 12 people, we now have 5 comfortably cosy bedroom suites which occupy the interior with a modern kitchen resplendent with country charm...

We provide a useful Welcome Pack for all our guests with some ideas of places we have visited and things to do. Here is just a quick selection though.

The nearby village of Desertines has a great little pub, The Red Lion, which is definitely worth a visit.

Natalie's is a local bar/restaurant in Desertines which serves a very reasonably priced plat du jour.

Cafe Gourmand is in our local town of Gorron and serves a great cup of tea and coffee (and cake if you need some!!) as well as lunches and dinner.

Elliot's, butchers, can supply all your meats and is just across the road from Cafe Gourmand!
