Our newly renovated old 'French Bakery' is a very comfortable and fully equipped 2 bedroom home which sleeps 4 people and is situated on private property in a quiet rural setting overlooking the 'Foret de Bourgon' and surrounding countryside.
Our property is situated on the outskirts of Montourtier, a little village in the beautiful French countryside of the Pays de la Loire region of France and is a perfect location for couples or a small family wishing to enjoy a quiet relaxing holiday or for those wishing to explore the region we have a selection of bikes available or maybe take in a spot of fishing in some of the beautiful lakes in the area. It could also be used as a touring base or stop-off point for other parts of France and Spain.
Large open plan kitchen with built in fridge, and stainless steel range cooker. There is also plenty of cupboard space and the kitchen is equipped with toaster, kettle, slow cooker and a good selection of pots, pans, plates, glasses, utensils etc. Tea towels are also provided as well as an ironing board and iron.
Large open plan lounge with logburner.
The main bedroom has a king size bed, chest of drawers, dressing table and wardrobe space. It has a full size double glazed window with 'Juliet' balcony.
Small bedroom with 2 full size single beds and chest of drawers.
A travelcot and safety gate are available on request.
Duvets, pillows and bed linen are provided.
Modern bathroom with shower.
The cottage has central heating radiators in each room which are heated through the logburner in winter which generates plenty of hot water. In the summer months there is an immersion heater to heat the water for showers etc.
We also provide a complimentary basket of logs for your first nights stay during October until the end of March and we can provide extra logs at 10 euros per day.
Tv with UK Freesat, dvd player and internet connection. We also have plenty of dvds and a selection of books, games and a Nintendo Wii are also available on request.
We also have a selection of bikes for hire (adults and childrens) for those interested in exploring the area on 2 wheels. These are available on request and a small deposit will be required..
Outside is a paved patio area with garden table and chairs.
There is plenty of parking space at the property.
A child's highchair, safety gate, travelcot and hair dryer are available on request at no extra charge.
A mobile air conditioning unit is available on request for a small charge.
My husband and I enjoy the peace and tranquility that comes with living in the beautiful countryside of the Pays de la Loire region of France.

Our Village is just a few minutes drive away and has a quaint little 12th century church.
Our little village of Montourtier is home to 'The Largest Omelette Pan in the World' and featured in the Guiness Book of Records when it was made in 1994 and still remains in the village today.
La Fenderie - 9 hectares with a lake and beach. Children's play area, fishing, walk around the lake, picnic area, restaurant with panoramic views - approx 4 miles away.
Our village is situated near the town of Montsurs which is part of the Mayenne region of the Pays de la Loire. The town of Montsurs is approximately 15 minutes drive away and has 2 supermarkets, cafes, bars, pharmacy, Post Office, newsagents, hairdressers, doctors and banks to name but a few. There is also a lovely riverside walk where you can go for a leisurely stroll along the riverbank, crossing over the little bridge where you can take a look at various farmyard animals on the way back.
Jublains is a small village about 20 minutes drive away and is best known as the site of an important ancient settlement and many parts can still be seen. The site was occupied by the ancient romans after they had conquered the region and the remains of several important buildings including the Roman Theatre can still be seen. A visit to the Museum is not to be missed.
Mayenne is a small town on the Mayenne river in the north of the Mayenne department.and is about halfway between Le Mans and Rennes and approximately 20 minutes drive from Montourtier. The town is known for its castle and riverside walks.
A leisurely stroll along the river on a sunny day is not to be missed. The towpath starts from here, and goes all the way to Laval and beyond. All along the towpath are the old lock-keepers cottages, some of which have been turned into little shops.
New Aquatic Centre 'La Vague', near Mayenne town – approx 10 miles away.
The Gue de Selle – approx 8 miles away. Beautiful lake and beach with childrens play area, pedalo's and bar/café. Fishing is also available.
Jardin Aquatique in Évron – approx 10 miles away.
L'Aquabulle in Laval - approx 17 miles away
Le Jardin de la Perrine in Laval, approx 20 miles away.
La Perrine Gardens are great for a family walk and situated in the centre of Laval. There are long paths, ponds, animals, a children's play area and a carousel all set in beautiful gardens.
Sille le Guillaume – approx 25 miles away. Visit the Coco Plage beach where you can go for a boat ride, hire a pedal boat, canoe and surf-bike on the lake of Sillé Plage or maybe try a spot of fishing! (A fishing card is required). You can also visit the Castle of Sille de Guillaume or take a leisurely walk through the forest.
Bagnoles-de-l'Orne - approx 29 miles away Is known for being the only thermal spa town in the Northwest of France and is built beside a romantic lake, hiding in magnificent forests, and nestles in the Normandie-Maine Regional Nature Park.
It boasts an elegant casino and racecourse as well as its renovated thermal spa centre.
Le Refuge de L'Arche in Chateau-Gontier - Approx 33 miles away. Is set In a 40-acre park, and houses about 1,500 animals of 150 different species. The animals are housed in spacious enclosures: aviaries, covered shelters, enclosures overlooked by viewing terraces where you can photograph or film such animals as herons, stalks, reptiles, herbivores, lions, tigers, bears, wolves, monkeys, leopards to name but a few. A unique wildlife park where these animals, wounded, abandoned, all have a story to tell. There is also a children's playground and relaxation and refreshment area. A visit here is definately not to be missed!
Le Mans - approx 45 miles away and is known for the Le Mans 24 Hours race.The Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans race track, offers simulator rides and amateur go-karting. In the old town, the Gothic-style Le Mans Cathedral features stained-glass windows and flying buttresses.
