This property is a comfortable, recently renovated charming stone cottage, equipped on the ground floor with a kitchen/dining/living room and on the first floor a spacious bedroom and en suite shower and toilet.
The property benefits from a kitchen equipped with a hob, oven, micro-wave, kettle, fridge and a welcome package of tea, coffee, milk and sugar, bottle of wine, eggs, yoghurt and bread is available on arrival.
There is also wi-fi, as well as British satellite tv, videos, dvd's and cd's available to the clients. Plenty of information is available in the cottage for the surrounding area in the form of leaflets and print-offs. An on-site barbecue is made available to clients.
The owners are available for any advice their clients may require concerning visits in the surrounding areas. The property is ideally situated for lovers of châteaux, La Mayenne being the département of France with the highest number of inhabited châteaux. Also, within easy driving distance of some of the ETTC DIY star châteaux. Lots of large, local markets selling traditional terroir products such as cheese, wine, calvados, and other local produce, in particular meat products. An excellent place to immerse yourself in the provincial French life style with its plethora of restaurants selling "plats du jour". Also, between meals you can visit the many brocantes to pick up some souvenirs.
The property is close to the river Mayenne with it's boating, canoeing, kayaking, biking and river cruises. It is also situated on the border with Brittany and close to the barrages on the Vilaine with their pedestrian paths and birdlife.
The area is also well supplied with private gardens which are open to the public for visits in both La Mayenne and Brittany. Other features of the area are churches, walled towns and heritage sites, Roman sites, castles and many local towns have an Old Quarter with attractive half timbered houses and narrow cobbled streets housing artisans workshops.
Bagnoles de l'Orne with it's casinos and spas is within easy driving distance. It boasts many nice restaurants and vintage car rallies on a regular basis. For relaxation, there is also a golf course.
For lovers of golf there are 3 golf courses within easy driving distance, near Vitré, Bagnoles de l'Orne and Changé.
There is a choice of swimming pools, with one in each of the four major towns nearby all within 1 hours driving distance.
This property is also within two hours drive of the D-day beaches and the historic town of Falaise where the Bayeux Tapestry is displayed.
