Welcome to our gite, a wonderful 200 year old property which has been beautifully restored to such a high standard that it featured in a full length article in Living France magazine.
The property is located in a tranquil rural location, in a hamlet 1 mile from Vaas and the River Le Loir and 6 miles from the bustling small town of Chateaux Du Loir which has a fabulous range of shops, cafés, restaurants and fantastic Saturday market.

The area is rich in history, and ideally situated for the network of cycle routes, the various chateaux, the vineyards from Muscadet in the West to Sancerre in the East, even closer are the excellent vineyards in Bourgueil, Touraine, Vouvrey and Jasniers. The gite is located equal distance between the fascinating cities of Tours and Le Mans, both of which offer direct TGV services to Paris in 60 minutes. The famous Le Mans race circuit can be reached in 30 minutes. If you want peace and relaxation the property looks out onto 1/2 acre of mature well kept private gardens.

Really enjoyed our stay at La petit cachette . A very pretty gite equipt with everything . Very clean and modern .
Andrew the owner was very helpful recommending places to visit .
There is so much to see and do locally and the wine region is excellent.
We would highly recommend a stay here .
La Petite Cachette is a lovely little gite in a very quiet rural location. The photographs and description on the website were very accurate and enabled us to easily make the decision to use it as a base for our holiday. The gite was very comfortable and well equipped, clean, tidy and well presented for our arrival and even included a small welcome gift which was much appreciated. We didn't actually get to meet the owners, but they were always available by phone or email and were extremely helpful. They also employ the services of a local English couple for day to day issues if you had any immediate problems.
Local amenities in the nearest village of Vaas were adequate with a hotel and restaurant, bars and a small convenience store. If you needed anything more than was available in Vaas, then Chateau du Loir is only about 15 minutes drive away.
Even though it was located in a quiet rural village it was ideally placed for touring the area between Angers, Le Mans and Tours. Additionally access to the most popular Chateaus along the Loire valley were only a little over an hours drive away. There are other things to see that are more local including a roman site and water mill. We also found numerous marked walks in the area for leisurely afternoon walks.
La Petit Cachette is an ideal place just to chill out and relax and can be heartily recommended.
Wonderful well equipped Gite in a quiet relaxed setting. Lovely garden, barbecue a must, we had 3 during our visit.
The owners were on site whilst we were visiting, they were brilliant hosts.
Large supermarket about 15 mins away in Chateau-du-Loir.
You can walk into the very pretty village of Vaas(1km) with a good butchers, bakers and mini shop, also a couple of bars to watch the world go by with a cold drink,
Lots to do around the area. Bikes can be hired (Chateau-du-Loir) and there are well marked cycle routes.
A trip to Le Mans a must, only €3.50 (return for 2 people including tram tickets) at MM arena park and ride to go into the centre. Lots of brilliant Chateauxs to explore.
Our favourite places were Le Chatre-sur-le-loir a very pretty town where the Hotel de France is worth a visit if you're interested in Le Mans, and Vendome which is very picturesque, with a ruined Chateaux on the hill.
If you want a quiet relaxing place to stay then we would highly recommend Le Petite Cachette.
Thanks for your review . We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay . We really did enjoy meeting you both.
All the best Andrew and Alexandra
