"La Bergerie" is situated in the hamlet of Marthe between Dissay-Sous-Courcillon and St Pierre de Cheville and only a 10 minute drive from junction 26 of the A28 autoroute, 39km from Tours airport and 48km from Le Mans.
It is set on a hill within the 10 acre grounds of the manor house known locally as The Petit Chateau de Marthe (previously owned by the Joffo family, Josef being the famous author of "Le Sac de Billes“).
Large kitchen with a gas cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee pod machine, kettle, fridge, well stocked cupboard with cookware, china, glass and cutlery.
There is a large open sitting room with fireplace stocked with logs, leather sofa, wide-screen smart tv, dining table and 6 chairs. Glazed doors open out on to the private balcony and terrace for you to enjoy drinks and dinner in front of wonderful evening sunsets and far reaching views down to the valley of the Loir.
The steep stairs lead up to a landing with toilet and 2 bedrooms, one large one, that offers double bed, marble top washstand, washbasin, and if required 2 single beds.
The other bedroom is a comfortable double room, also with a washbasin.
Bed linen and towels are of fine quality for your comfort and enjoyment.
Through an impressive hallway with a chandelier is an Italian style shower room with toilet and 2 washbasins.
Heating is provided by electric radiators in all rooms and in winter months also by a fire lit in a large fireplace in the sitting room.
The main chateaux on the Loire are approx. an hour away by car. The local town of Chateau-du-Loir offers a hypermarket, boulangeries, a charcuterie, bars, restaurants and a weekly market every Saturday. It is perfect base for touring the Pays de la Loire region.
Guests are can enjoy walks in the private grounds of the chateau all year round.
The main feature in summer is then a stupendous swimming pool designed by previous owner, famous interior designer Boris Joffo. It is styled in the shape of a ship and called the St Vincent. It has a figurehead shower and decking, perfect for relaxing in the sun. It is open every day between 8am and 10pm, May - October.
There is also a private terrace with a balcony and stunning views with wonderful sunsets off the sitting/dining room.
Access is through electric security gates and parking is completely secure, private and level.
Due to the steep stairs leading up to the first-floor bedrooms, the property is not suitable for young children and the elderly.
