I am a retired civil servant, married with four grown up children who have all left home. We have always loved France especially the Vendée region and were delighted to buy our mobile home form new and enjoy happy family holidays on this lovely friendly camp site. We live in Surrey and visit France as often as possible.
|Year property purchased||1996|
|Why this location?||It is on a larger than average plot on the edge of the Les Amiaux site. St Jean de Monts and the area provides a huge range of activities. Unlike many sites you can park your car beside the home.|
|Unique benefits of property||We are in a small cul de sac of just 3 homes. The plot opposite is too small to accommodate another home,thus providing extra space for cars or play area. We have a lovely patio area,ideal for alfresco meals in complete privacy, thanks to a high hedge and fields beyond. Our aim is to provide our guests with everything needed for a relaxing holiday. A full inventory is available on request.|
On two Thursdays in July and August the town closes the main streets to traffic and goes back to the 1920's. There are carriage rides, folk dancing, local crafts and most of the shops have displays and staff in local costumes. There is even a 'retro Tour de France' on vintage bikes!
Situated on a 4 star campsite with cycle hire facilities many new cycle paths in the area. Up to date details of places of interest, visit, sports etc provided in the home
Restaurant, bar, takeaway on-site
The aquarium can be reached at low tide by a causeway over the sea-bed or by bridge.
A beautiful old traditional thatched "bourinne" which serves good regional dishes including eels and frogs legs.
Les Sables zoological gardens invite you on a journey into the animal kingdom. An unforgettable experience awaits with leafy passages, lush vegetation, fascinating encounters with over 200 animals (giraffes, wild cats, monkeys, reptiles…) in a natural environment resembling their own original surroundings.
A lovely fully equipped caravan in a very quiet spot of a family site. The site is very clean with very good facilities for children of all ages. Pool areas all very clean and children aged 10 and 12 loved the slides.
We have stayed in this mobile home on 3 occasions which is a very positive endorsement of this property indeed. It has everything one needs for a very enjoyable holiday. The mobile is clean, spacious and beautifully maintained by the owners. its location in the campsite offers privacy and peace and quiet, perfect for enjoying the beautiful Vendée sunshine. There is a patio area and barbecue to enjoy alfresco dining. The campsite offers so many activities for families with its array of swimming pools, water slides, tennis courts and basketball courts. The onsite hosts are extremely friendly and helpful and will assist with any queries you may have. The Vendée area is famous for its beaches. There are a number of beaches located only minutes from the campsite which again are perfect for families to relax and have fun.
If you like cycling the area around Saint Jean de Monts is highly recommended. There is a forest trail adjacent to the campsite where you can cycle for hours through the beautiful forest on well appointed cycling trails. There are frequent picnic areas along the route. The marshland area near Saint Jean de Monts is also best explored by bicycle. This is a vast area where you can enjoy a variety of flora and fauna cycling along quiet rural roads. The marshes are really beautiful and if you enjoy cycling and nature this is a must do experience!
I thoroughly recommend this mobile home. It is the perfect base from which one can enjoy the beautiful Vendée area.
