This is a beautiful, old property with loads of character. Home from home facilities, comfortable beds, warm and cosy, and fully equipped kitchen, all in classic French style. Set in a quiet village, in easy driving distance of many lovely towns and villages of the Vendée.
Superb accommodation in a fabulous setting. Superb customer service from the owners and great advice about surrounding attractions and restaurants. The place was even better than what the owners described it. Absolutely fabulous place!
The property is very old and has lots of character. It has been well maintained and is kept spotlessly clean. The owners replied promptly to any questions we had prior to our holiday and sent us clear directions to the property. They provided information regarding house keeping and local attractions in the house.
The house is in a small, quiet village but is only a few kilometres from a bustling town and a choice of supermarkets. There is an excellent restaurant in the village. The owner is very pleasant and speaks good English. He will explain the menu to you. It is open every afternoon and evening except for a Tuesday. We also found a lovely restaurant by the lake at Mervent, only a few kms away. The food was excellent and carry outs were available. We had take away pizza one night.
The town of Coulon is a short 20 minute drive away and is in a region called green Venice. It is a lovely town and we enjoyed a lovely walk along the canal. We also visited La Rochelle which is only an hours drive away.
We travelled as a couple with a dog but the house is large enough to accommodate a big family easily.
