This holiday was excellent. No problems at all. The property was wonderful, much larger than I thought and everything you would need was provided. It was slightly difficult to find even with a map and sat nav but got there in the end! Lovely and quiet, just what we needed. Local beaches were great for my granddaughter and lots of things to visit and explore. We loved our day at Ile de Re and our visit to the tropical gardens. I would definitely recommend this holiday.

Enjoyed this stay very much. Location was amazing the house has so much to offer, You will not be disappointed it is fully equiped with everything. The hosts give full information from the time you book and help with directions, the information book tells you where to eat, shop etc and we followed the suggestions and we're thrilled by them all.
This was a true French country side experience one I will truly remember.

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay so much. Many thanks for your lovely review.

We had a fantastic week at La Malvoie. The house and garden are lovely, well maintained, clean, spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. The owners' family were staying in their neighbouring property over the summer and were available if we needed anything, welcoming but unintrusive. The house is peaceful, near a cycle path to the forest and beach so more bikes than cars passed by. Taking bikes with you or hiring them would be recommended.
There is a large supermarket in Talmont, just 5 minutes drive away, along with bakeries etc in the town itself, again within short driving distance.
Veillon beach nearby was nice, very busy in high season so parking could be an issue by the afternoon and we learnt to go earlier. Shallow shelving water, good rockpooling at low tide, and long expanses of sandy beach. There are some large French holiday parks nearby so the port area was also very busy but a nice place to eat.
We enjoyed great weather so the beach was the main option for us with younger children and the area seems very much geared up to its beach resorts. Castle in Talmont was good but much cheaper to visit on the weekend than during the week (half the price). Aquarium in La Rochelle also good if up for a drive down the coast but recommend printing tickets if possible in advance as there are very long queues to buy tickets on rainy days, as learned from other holidays in the area.

La Malvoie - An oasis of calm. A beautiful cottage with wonderful views across a well tended walled garden. Literally minutes away from local shops and services in Querry Pigeon yet it's location was tranquil and in an excellent setting. On arrival we received a very warm welcome, as though we were about to share a home rather than a holiday cottage. There were 2no large bedrooms which could have accommodated the crew of HMS Ark Royal with ease if required, fly screens which allowed cool air to circulate and kept away the wee beasties. A well provisioned kitchen with every utensil you could think of, a lovely well proportioned living room with doors that opened out into the garden. In terms of literature the briefing pack was comprehensive and provided some great information to help fill the days. We really loved the local harbour at Port Bourgnon the beach at Vellon Plage and the enormous Le Clerc supermarket near Les Sables which made our well know supermarket chains look like corner shops. Would I recommend this cottage to a friend or relative - a resounding yes!
