Fontenay-le-Comte, the city of art and history, is the largest town to Green Shutters and only a 35 min drive. Famous for its 15th and 16th century Renaissance façades and medieval castle ruins it's full of history and well worth a visit.

Puy du Fou is an historical theme park in Les Epesses in the heart of the Vendée region of Western France. The park attracts 1.5 million visitors every year, making it the fourth most popular attraction in France after Disneyland Paris. The shows are spectacular and a must for all the family and it's only a 40 minute drive from Green Shutters!
Green Shutters is the perfect place to escape to. The rooms are very spacious and the beds are extremely comfy. All linen and towels were of excellent quality and smelt amazing!! The kitchen was very well equipped with a lovely big fridge freezer- especially the ice and chilled water dispenser. The kids loved the games. Arm! Big kids too!! With table tennis, darts and football table all being well used!
The pool area was a huge hit, lovely clean pool with sun beds to lie on whilst the children were having a ball in the pool.
We made great use of the two sitting areas, one up in pool area with gazebo, we loved that the sides could be zipped to give a bit escape from the sun at meal times!! And the second sitting area opposite front door, this meant children could be in bed and we were just outside! Would not have felt so happy if they were in bed and we were still sitting up at pool.
The bonus of the carport ment the cars were cool when we were heading out anywhere.
Tim and Ali at the local pub Le Clemenceau were great hosts, we stopped here on many occasions for a small refreshment. Worth a visit especially for the chips!!
Angie and Rick have a gem here, I would not hesitate to go back with the family!! Xx
I love hearing that our guests have enjoyed their holiday and thank you, Laura, for the lovely review!
