About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Maureen Webster

Hello I am a retired teacher of adults/community centre manager. I have a long affinity with France as I have French family; some of whom live nearby. I love France for its weather, food, architecture both old and modern, its vast areas of countryside with amazing wildlife and miles of unspoiled beaches. I feel extremely lucky to have found such a lovely place to live.

Year property purchased 2004
Why this location? I love the Vendee with its Marais, lovely coast and interesting history. It has an excellent climate and is a perfect base for exploring other regions of France.
Unique benefits of property The gite is adjacent to our house so we are available for guests. It is rurally situated with a nearby cave (for the purchase of wines,) but within a short distance of the beautiful coastline of Vendee and Loire Atlantique. It is an excellent quiet place to rest, relax and recuperate from the stresses of every day life and a good base to enable guests to explore the local area. The garden has a play area for children, a seasonal pool with patio separate to the gite's private patio area.

Local Attractions

We have many attractions within short driving distances catering for all tastes - historical, adventurous and picturesque! Come and explore Puy de Fou, Planete Sauvage, Coex's sensory garden, Apremont with its freshwater lake and chateau, Nantes chateau, Clisson and La Chabotterie - a significant manor house in Vendee's history. We must not forget the miles and miles of coastal places to explore from Pornic to Noirmoutier right down to Les Sables D'Olonne host to the internationally famous Vendee Globe yacht race. Our favourites are St Jean de Monts with its golf course adjacent to the beach and St Gilles Croix de Vie, which has a pretty marina, lovely beach and nice restaurants.

Absolutely 110% brilliant

Owner response

Thank you so much but I have to say you were equally as brilliant. It is so nice to have guests, who become friends/extended family. It was just lovely having you stay. I am sad that the weather was not as kind as it could have been. Chez Mimi was left so immaculate I thought you had taken a photo to ensure that everything was in the exact spot!!! I do hope you get to visit in the future and I am looking forward to keeping in touch.
