About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Annette Khan

Hello, we are Paul & Isabelle and we live on site in France and have had our holiday homes in the Vendée since 2005. The holiday rentals are managed by Annette, who lives nearby.

Year property purchased 2005
Why this location? The country life appealed to both Paul and Isabelle and once they found their 'dream property' they set about renovating the old farm buildings and converting them into comfortable living accommodation for holiday makers and themselves. They love the peace and tranquility of the location, yet they are only a 10 minute drive to a bustling town and also have good motorway connections.
Unique benefits of property La Maison du Soleil - so called as it basks in the sun all day - is an ideal spot for a relaxing holiday in the country with your family. You can spend the day lounging around the pool, playing in the huge garden or venture out to the fantastic Puy du Fou Theme Park - only 30 minutes away. Paul and Isabelle are usually around to help and advise you about what to see and do in the area.

The Owner Recommends

The Puy du Fou Theme Park

The Puy du Fou Theme Park is an experience not to be missed! This park has won several Global Awards over the past couple of years and they are constantly adding new features. You can watch the vikings, gladiators, musketeers and medieval knights, plus there is the best bird of prey show that you are ever likely to view - with over a 100 birds flying around you and landing next to you! Also not to be missed, is the spectacular evening show - with over 1200 participants and an impressive fireworks display at the end!

La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré

The coastal town of La Rochelle is well worth a visit - with lots to do for all of the family. There is a fantastic aquarium with a large shark tank and rain forest area, an old port with restaurants spilling out onto the pavements, lots of boutique shops set in arcaded streets and a large market hall selling locally caught seafood and locally grown fruit and vegetables. Over the bridge to the Ile de Ré - and you escape from the hustle and bustle of big city life - with quaint harbour-side villages and windswept beaches, plus great seafood restaurants and donkeys in pyjamas!

The Marais Poitevin Regional Park

The area known as the 'Venise Verte' forms part of the Marais Poitevin Regional Park - here you can spend a lazy day punting around the vast network of canals - spotting the local wildlife and drifting past ruined abbeys and pretty villages. Lots of canal-side restaurants and historical buildings to see.
