About this property

A Mobile Home Close to Many Blue Flag Sandy Beaches. This mobile home is in a coastal setting.

Les Amiaux is a large, family friendly site within easy reach of a beautiful safe, blue flag sandy beach. The site has it's own micro climate with temperatures similar to those in the south of France.

Our mobile home is a large, well equipped 3 bed Willerby home. It will accommodate 6 people comfortably, with opportunity to accommodate 2 extra people in the lounge, if required.
It is situated on a large plot at the top of a quiet cul de sac, yet within easy reach of all of the amenities that the site has to offer. The hedges around the plot offer privacy.
There is a grassed area on the plot offering a safe play space for children and for relaxing on the sun loungers as well as a paved area and barbecue for al fresco eating.

The home is positioned next to our 3 bed home therefore giving you the opportunity to holiday with the extended family or friends.


Mobile home

Kitchen and dining

There is a galley kitchen leading off the lounge, fitted with a full size oven with 4 gas rings. There is also a fridge freezer, microwave and crockery etc for up to 8 people.
As it is our family holiday home there are many "added extras" for you to use.
We have also allowed adequate storage for visitors to use.
The dining area is in the lounge and there is a table and seating for 6 people on bench style seats and an extra stool.

Living rooms

The lounge is spacious with plenty of bench seating, the benches can be re arranged to offer an extra double bed if required.
There is a gas fire and a tv providing English channels. There is also a dvd player and portable radio/cd player.
We have provided a range of games, dvds and books for your use.
There is an electric fan if needed.


There are three bedrooms in the home.
The main bedroom has a double bed and a large double wardrobe with storage cupboards above the beds. There is also a small set of drawers in the wardrobe.
There are 2 twin bedded rooms, each with a single wardrobe, small drawer unit and shelving above the beds.
The single beds in one of the bedrooms can be pushed together to provide another double bed if required.
A camp cot is also available if needed.

We provide quilts and pillows, all with removable protectors. You will need to provide your own quilt cover, sheets and pillowcases as well as towels and tea towels.
There is a hire service available on the site through our on site hosts. You will need to request this on booking as it is a limited service.


There is a shower room with hand basin and a separate toilet and hand basin.
The shower tray is a deep one so may be used for bathing young children.
There is a clean, well set up shower block very close to the mobile home for you to use if preferred. There is also a children's bath in this block.


There is a gas fire in the lounge and a portable oil filled radiator.

Gas and electric charges are covered in the cost of your holiday.


The site has numerous activities to suit all age ranges.
There is a large indoor swimming pool with toddler pool as well as a flume area surrounded by sunbeds for soaking up the sun. There is also an outdoor pool and children's splash pool.
There are facilities for tennis, football, boules, basketball and table tennis. A new indoor gym was opened last season.
Small children are provided for with small play areas and sand pits around the site.
There is also a daily children's club for over 5's.
There is a bar and restaurant on the site with a takeaway facility and throughout the high season there is a programme of events held here. There is outdoor seating and indoor area with a pool table.

Garden and outside

On this large plot we have a grassed area for play and relaxing on the sunloungers, and as it is at the top of a cul de sac it is safe for little children.
There is a paved area with patio table and seating for up to 8 people with a barbecue for alfresco eating.
There is a gazebo available if required to provide shade and a rotary clothes dryer.
In the black box, on the paved area there is a selection of beach toys and an inflatable paddling pool for toddlers for you to use.

Parking and garages

There is space for one car on the plot, with additional safe parking near the reception area at the front of the site. Cars are not allowed on the site between 11pm and 7 am to ensure that the site is quiet and safe during the night. If you are late back to the site you will need to park in the area to the front of the site.

Visitor suitability

Les Amiaux is an ideal site for people of all ages. catering especially for families. There are ample facilities to suit families with young children or teenagers, both at Les Amiaux and in the surrounding areas.
It is equally suited to couples wanting a restful holiday exploring the area by car, on foot, or bicycle. There are numerous walking and cycle trails in the immediate area and other easily reached areas.

Unfortunately the home would not be suitable for disabled visitors due to the steps for access and the restricted areas inside the home.

Information about any additional facilities

We have a very friendly couple who are our on site hosts throughout the season. They will be there to welcome you to the home and assist you with any queries you may have during your stay. They will also check the home at the end of your holiday to ensure that it is left in a clean condition, ready for the next visitors. We provide cleaning materials and vacuum cleaner, so would ask that you leave the home as you found it.
Wi-fi is available in the home and in the bar, you will need to register and pay the daily/ weekly tariff for this at reception.
The cost of gas and electricity is covered in the rental, as are all of the activities available on the site.
It is possible to hire a high chair, again book this with me before your holiday.
We have a selection of bikes in the home for you to use, but must stress that these are used at your own risk.
There is a good cycle hire service on the site.
For extra security there is a vehicle registration recognition system at the barrier

I am a retired teacher, living in Oxfordshire with my husband, a retired college lecturer and plumber. We have 2 grown up children. When they were younger we spent many happy holidays camping in France, especially enjoying the gorgeous beaches in the Vendée. We decide to buy two mobile homes adjacent to one another at Les Amiaux, which is a very family friendly site. We spend as much time as we can on the site taking many holidays at the homes with our friends and family members.

Why this location? The Vendée is easily accessed from the ferry ports Saint Malo ( approx.3 hours), Caen ( approx.4 hours) and Cherbourg ( approx. 5 hours). There are excellent road networks and it is only an hours drive from Nantes airport. Once at the site you are assured of a great holiday close to fantastic beaches as well as interesting towns and villages offering markets and family activities There are many supermarkets and restaurants within easy access. The site is a family friendly site with amenities to suit all age groups.
The area is conducive to walking and cycling and there are many interesting places to visit only a short drive away. Saint Jean de Monts is a wonderful resort with a fantastic beach and promenade and free parking. There is a weekly market and a regular night market. Also a vast choice of restaurants.
Unique benefits of property Our mobile homes are positioned at the top of a small cul de sac but within easy access of all the amenities which the site has to offer. The good sized plots are hedged to give privacy and there is parking for one car at each mobile home. There is a grassed area for sun loungers and for young children to play, as well as a paved area with a table and seating for 6 as well as a barbecue. A gazebo is available if needed to offer shade. As we use the home for our own family holidays we maintain it in good condition. Each home is comfortable and well equipped with many "added extras" included. A full inventory is available on request.
As the two homes that we own are adjacent to one another it gives the opportunity for two families to be accommodated close to one another. Also as our mobile homes are the only permanent homes in the cul de sac there is a cosmopolitan feel during the high season, with visitors from many countries moving onto the other plots.

Places to visit in the area

Saint Jean de Monts and Notre Dame de Monts are the nearest towns offering beautiful beaches, bustling weekly markets, cycling and walking routes and a wide range of restaurants. The Bistro on the beach at Notre Dame de Monts is well worth a visit. There is a sailing centre, Thalassotherapy pool and a number of horse riding centres also sited in Saint Jean de Monts.
Ille de Noirmoutier is approximately 20 kms away. It can be reached by a road bridge or a more exciting route is via La Gois. or causeway at low tide when you can join the locals and other visitors cockle picking.( tide times are available at reception or in the tourist information office in Saint Jean de Monts.) There is also an aquarium on the island and lots of safe cycle routes as well as a lovely historic town to wander around.
Pornic is well worth a visit for lovely walks and interesting buildings including a chateau.
Les Sable d'Olonne offers a beach, interesting harbour and lovely eateries as well as a super zoo.
In August Challans holds historic markets with the locals dressing in historical costume. ( details from reception).

Best equipped caravan we've ever hired in over 15 visits to France. Really pleased with gas BBQ - so much easier than charcoal - & it was wonderful to have an oven & a microwave (usually its one or the other). The fan was a Godsend, as was the gazebo, as we had 2 weeks of sunshine & temperatures into 30s. Also we liked that it catered for families eg it had a large saucepan c.f. the norm which is medium & small, it had some plastic cups etc as well as more than adequate crockery & utensils & the little things which make life easier - foil, bag clips, knife sharpener, toilet rolls, soap, washing up liquid, sponge & cleaning materials. There were TV, DVD, CD players, DVDs, games & books & even bicycles!

The site seemed well run & had a good mix of British, French, Dutch, German & Irish tourists (& there were lots of well behaved dogs). The on-site facilities were well used - but the bar was pricey - over 5 euros a pint - fortunately there are several supermarkets in the area where alcohol can be bought at relatively low (ie normal French) prices.

The owner provided comprehensive information & was extremely pleasant to deal with. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this caravan to anyone subject to the proviso that they took plenty of anti mosquito materials as there are no fly screens on the windows & its not far from standing water - the owner does however provide a plug in 'insectecutor'
