Our lovely French gite has just been finished.
Set in the beautiful Vendee countryside just outside Mouilleron en Pareds in the small hamlet of La Chicaillere an hour from the atlantic coast and La Rochelle.
The gite is attached to the main house and faces the garden.
Spacious kitchen/diner with gas cooker, larder fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, coffee-maker, toaster, washing machine, ample crockery, cutlery and cookware.
Ironing board and iron.
Pine table and chairs and overhead clothes dryer.
Highchair, babygate and cot if required.
The lounge has a large fireplace with woodburner, 2 easy chairs and double sofabed suitable for 2 adults.
The bedroom has a double and a single bed (ideal for a child), hanging rail and set of drawers.
The shower room has a large shower tray vanity unit with shaver socket, towel rail and wc.
There are radiators in every room plus a woodburner in the lounge.
In the lounge there is a uk television, dvd and radio/cassette/cd player.
There is a shared above ground pool, table chairs brolly and sunbeds to the side of the gite.
The garden is large and is set to grass and trees.
There is enough parking for 2 cars on the drive beside the gite.

We lived in Bristol for most of our lives then we lived on a 60ft Narrowboat on the Kennett and Avon canal for 5 years until we decided to retire to France.

The only fortified village of the Vendee is 10 minutes away.
Visit the Donjon and its medieval gardens and museum, there is also a very good restaurant there.
Birthplace of two of Frances famous sons, George Clemenceau, who signed the treaty at the end of the 1st world war and Marshal Jean de Lattre de Tassigny who signed the treaty at the end of 2nd world war. There is a museum, a bank, Post Office, small supermarket, boulangerie, pharmacie and 4 bars/restaurants it is 3.5 miles away.
This is our closest bar/tabac run by Tony and Dani they serve a good set lunch for approx 12 euros they also sell bread and other essentials. The food is only served on a lunchtime and booking is required.
A historical theme park in les Epesses in the heart of the Vendee it has more than 2 million visitors a year making it the second most popular theme park in France after Disneyland Paris. Well worth a visit and only 25 miles away.
Massive forest and a zoo approx 11 miles.
There is also a big lake for fishing and swimming with bars and restaurants.
Moutiers Les Mauxfaits (85) between La Roche sur Yon and Les Sables D'olonne approx 35 miles.
