We bought a small campsite after seeing an advertisement in a magazine and decided to change our life. We thought it the perfect area for us, somewhere to relax and unwind, but close to a vibrant market town and beaches too. At first we ran a B&B attached to our house but decided to convert an old farm building into the gite and opened it early summertime in 2013. We invite you to come and enjoy the charm of this delightful region and love it in the same way that we do.

|Unique benefits of property||Beautifully converted open plan gite, all on one level, ideal for couples. Features a high ceiling and exposed wooden beams giving a very light and spacious feel. Cool in the summer, warm in winter.|
A visit to the charming Island of Noirmoutier is a must with some 50 kms of sandy beaches, forests of pine, salt pans and marshes. You will find a 12th century chateau in the town as well as trendy shops and restaurants along its quayside. A bustling market is held here every Friday morning.
The most delightful way to reach the island is over the 'Passage du Gois,' a cobbled causeway 4 kms long which can be accessed twice a day at low tide. The island is also connected to the mainland by a bridge accessible at all times. As the tide goes out it attracts many shell seekers (la peche a pied).
St-Jeans-de-Monts – (18 kms) Popular modern seaside resort with miles of golden sandy beach and plenty of activities for children. It offers lively cafés, restaurants, shops, bars and night clubs with the town centring round its charming church and open market square.
St-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie - (28 kms) With 3.5 kms of sandy beaches this is a great seaside resort where you can find a delightful maze of old fisherman's cottages set in between the port and the shopping area.
Pornic (32 kms) is another popular seaside resort with a traditional harbour, small coves and rocky cliffs. It has some interesting shops and many restaurants to choose from in it's town. An enjoyable walk can be taken along the pretty coastal path which passes along the small coves and creeks.
About an hours drive away is Les Sables d'Olonne, the largest resort in the Vendee with a long crescent shaped beach of gently shelving sand. A bustling seafront promenade links the beach to the town and you'll also find a fishing port and marina lined with bars and restaurants.
Locally you can browse among the craft shops in the pretty the village of Sallertaine. You can also take a trip on a canoe through the marshes or visit the working windmill 3 kms away.
A day trip to the vibrant cultural city of Nantes is well worth a visit.
Excellent area for cycling either along the quiet country lanes or dedicated cycle tracks. We are situated 5 kms from the Velodyessee, the longest cycle route in France starting in Brittany and running down the Atlantic coast. The Tour de France 2018 starts at Noirmoutier on the 7th July and holds it's second stage the following day in the Vendee.
Starting at Coex a great fun activity is the cycle route called the the Velorail, a 10 kilometre former railway line on a pedal powered railcar that passes through unspoilt countryside.
A market is held every Tuesday morning in the town of Challans, about 15 minutes by car, where you can stroll around the outdoor market or buy fresh food from the indoor market. Other markets can be found in the surrounding areas most days.
Vide greniers (car boot sales) and brocantes, mostly outdoors in the summer months, are held regularly on Sunday mornings where you can try to pick up a bargain.
