The room is equipped with a washing machine, a large cupboard behind the mirror, and solid teak furniture with a lava stone basin. There are also a hair dryer, iron and ironing board.
From mid-May to the end of September, guests have access to the indoor swimming pool. They can enjoy the pleasure of swimming, even in the event of inclement weather, the vast dome of 100m2 houses the 9x4m pool and encourages relaxing on the sunloungers.
The pool is shared with the other gite on site (2/4 persons)
The cottages are located in the heart of the old farm, between the courtyard and the meadows. The courtyard garden is still under development, our recent arrival at Le Relay means that in 2018 we will continue the decorating, landscaping and planting of the courtyard.
As all garden enthusiasts know, the most important thing with a garden is to define a specific theme to serve as a guide. We opted for a contrasting mix between a “bocager” and a Japanese inspired garden.
The car park is situated at the entrance of our closed domaine.
Free wi-fi is available.
We supply these items : Kitchen paper, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets and liquid hand-wash soap under the sink, toilet paper and bin bags. A selection of spices, pepper and various condiments.
Help yourself to basil, parsley, and chives from the garden.
We are a couple of French people living in the peaceful countryside in the Vendée. We are both interested in sports (martial arts, mountain biking, hiking), sites of historical interest and little treasures to be found. Alan is retired and keeps a very close eye on his 4 horses. Sabrina is still working in marketing. As a former guide interpreter, she is passionate about gardens, history, taking photos, and of course very willing to speak english and explain the french way of life.
|Year property purchased||2014|
|Why this location?||The story of the gites begins in February 2014: we were looking for property in the countryside suitable for horses. By chance we came across La Solissonniere, we fell head over heels in love with it (in French - a coup de Coeur).|
|Unique benefits of property||The Relay de la Source is a little natural haven situated in the Vendee, at just 30 mins from the Puy du Fou. On site, the grounds consist of a landscaped garden which surrounds the indoor pool, and a vast meadow which allows the 4 horses to gambol freely. Numerous walking paths can be found nearby and at least 5 start from the gîtes.
Each gîte has its own sunny terrace, east and south facing, with views of the 4 thoroughbreds. Guests also have access to the indoor swimming pool, and can enjoy a swim even on rainy days: its vast dome of 60m² houses the 9x4m pool.
The 1st gîte, la Bergerie, 95m² in size includes a living room completely renovated, 1 mezzanine bedroom and 1 bedroom (bed arrangements adjustable) on the ground floor.
The 2nd gîte called Le Cosy, is a little haven of 45m² for couples or parents with 2 children. The cottage has a living room, a kitchen, bathroom and 1 bedroom with a four-poster bed. A mezzanine specially designed for the children recall cabin.
For families, the Vendée offers various possibilities for visits, free or payable: we have listed the key cultural sites not to be missed; without forgetting the amazing Puy du Fou. Castles, churches and the many charming little villages full of character: the "bocage vendéen” is home to a wealth of delightful sites at less than 30 minutes from the gîtes. Not really sure that one week’s holiday will be enough to do and see everything…
